ive heard both ways. probably safer to detune for street. then on track days buy race fuel and turn up the wick.
i wouldn't use those ones that you see at the auto parts store. they will ruin ur motor. i knew some ppl from high school who used that in there cars, it really messed up something the car started to blow out smoke an didn't run right ever since
No further than you are from Arkansas, I'd see whats available over there and buy you some fuel drums to fill with good stuff if they have it across the border. I thought OK had 93 octane?
they might but not the local stations, i may be able to find a place in AR that sells it. im only about 25 min from the border. ill check out some stations tommorrow or sunday when i go there. if i can get it in AR that would be great. thanks greg.Quote:

i put 20oz of methanol in my tank at fill up truck runs good it loves that stuff but i wouldnt over do it
what do you consider straight methanol.brand ,type etc.

thats what alot of people do up here anyway.if youre truck is borderline ,on the octane scale.we go get 10 gallons of 114 and mix it on a friday night and raise hell.it does make a diff and it keeps everything nice and clean ,includidng youre tailpipes.
Just make sure its Un Lead fuel.... So it doesnt coat the o2 sensors... I ran a grand national years ago... Had C24 or something I bought from Conley ... He promised It was as close to Alcohol as I would get ! We would run 5 Gallons in 5 gallons of 93... about 100miles later SES light would come on ... Install another 02 and try it again
humm .i just ran a full tank of leaded 114.i hope i dont have the same issues.least i had some fun with her though .ya we used to do 50-50 also.
yeah it was unleaded, i dont think they can sell lead anymore to the public can they?
i found it going too the dragstrip ,at a gas station nearby.boy im pretty sure it said leaded when i looked out at the pump too pay .i wonder if it really was ill have too check it out next time i go too the strip.ive been getting it there for 20 years and dont remember.
