post your interest in a 16x10 drag wheel

ive been in contact with a wheel company and they are willing to make a 16x10 drag wheel for us 6 lug truck guys!!!! the plans are a go right now and they are doing their research. the 15x10 wheel they currently make is only 15lbs. they said the 16x10 shouldnt weigh much more and will fit without any modification to our brakes. this should be an awesome combo for 28x10-16 or 28x11.5x16 tires.

just for reference the lightest 16x10 wheels that ive been able to find are 25lbs per wheel.

if your interested post up! they want to see the interest. they also want to see if anyone is interested in front runners so if you are interested in that too let them know. heres a direct quote from them.

The thing is i would have to maybe goto a 6 spoke wheel for the 6 lugs so it might be a lil more in weight. But still the same construction as the Street lite, And most likely SFI approved. This might also be a 3piece wheel as i need to see on the 16x10" hoops and there availability

You can make mention of it and link me to the thread with intrest, Say you were contacted about a 6 lug wheel and the marketplace for it. I will keep you updated on my progress, but it looks like a go.

Also i am working on a 3 piece front wheel for a front runner. do you think there would be intrest?? It would be 18x5 MT makes a 24" and a 26" 18" tire thats 5" wide. Im working on those for the vettes and the vipers along with the poopras. another alternative is needed to the CCw's and the Bias Ply tire.

I'm interested, how much would they run? Is it easy to find slicks in 16x10's? I have yet to even look for slicks online yet..

I was going to run a stock rim, but a 10" wide rim would be much better. I'm interested.

not sure on price yet. they are doing their research right now and its been less than 48hrs. as soon as i know the pricing ill let yall know. as far as i know they will look like the street lite.... google images :) they need to see more interest before they make the leap...ducky a 28x10-16 hoosier slick is perfect for this wheel....or a 28x11.5-16 or 26x10-16 or 26x11.5 etc etc will work great on this size wheel.

im game. But ill only need 1 wheel until i get a locker LOL!!!
seriously though I would love a set in the rear, fronts not so much.

I would be interested if price is right.. I also would like to see the front runners. The 62', and the 2000 have the same bolt pattern.. :D

See if the can make it 8 lug as well? Far stretch, but worth a try. My Mickey Thompson wheels are 16 x 12's and 27lbs. a piece.

yeah, id be interested in a set of 16x10's for the back, but not so much in the front runners.

you can get bogarts then....6-10 lbs per wheel!!! track only though. 15-18lbs is guna be as light as you can get and still be street worthy.

if you have 5 bolt you could run some of the drag wheels already out there couldn't you?

i would use them for my slicks only. you can run them all the way around if you want i guess. no reason for a 10" wide wheel up front...

Bogart racing makes them. They will make any bolt pattern, even an 8 lug. They are pricing me some. 16 x 10 8 lug and a 16 x 8 ? They will special make them 15 lbs.- 23lbs.

the email i got back from bogart said they are $425 each wheel... thats 15x10 6x5.5 with 6.5b.s....if these wheels aren't going to be ALOT cheaper than that, i'm out

Thats light, I weighed my stock Aluminium 16's with 265/75-16 bfg ko's and they were 63 lbs and the 245/70-17 steel street wheel and tires were 65.8 lbs.

any word on these?

It might make a difference. I used a 8" wheel on the '81. The wheels I use now are 7" wide.

there is a guy on pt.net that did slicks in the back that tucked and these skinnies up front and I thought looked damn good. plus it was his DD to. not saying he drove it around like that, but yeah

yeah it he had that backs widened and the fronts narrowed. cost him like $400/wheel. you're talkin about the truck with the 427 right?

i knew these tires would hook for ya. congrats on the new best 60' times. youll be in the 1.5's soon.

lance has a little more than tires to get him hooking like that. drag shocks up front, caltracks, removed overload, relocated battery, and more into it im sure. they should hook great for you without all of that though. nitrous is harsher off the line than a turbo.

I saw his post over on pt.net. Do worn out stock shocks really hook well? Is it because they can compress off of the launch?

I was told the smallest wheel I can put on my truck is 17" because of the brakes...?
