yeah if you want cats you got to build your own.
ORRRRR, You can get the rear 02's tuned out, and weld on a shell. you know, to make it look like a cat. for off-road puposes of course:no2:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR not even weld in anything at all. Just put on the LT's and ORY. It should all slip and bolt together just fine. Then have the rear O2 sensors tuned out and you are done. No problems...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR you could get the long tubes and do true duals.
you'd still have to tune.
yes. so get the headers and decide what your gunna do. just cut the cats off your y and splice them into the pacesetter if you wanna keep em. Id get rid of them, but thats just me.
HotRodv6, Your on every forum i'm on.. lol. I see you on Syty forums, i see you on S10 forums and now i see you here.
You in ohio? we should hang out lol.
oh ya my name is brock1949 on the other forum
I've installed the Pacesetter Headers and ory pipe... I did retain my cats for smog purposes... If your not going to be running cats.. .the whole system bolts together super easy... If you are, i would consider not buying the y pipe, because your local exaust shop will just have to cut it up, to use it anyways... Just save the money, from not buying the y pipe, and put that towards having the exaust done... if you look through my post, i have some pics of my whole exaust system. I had the exaust guy cut up, and use the madrall bent 3inch ory pipe in my exaust system..

good pics! thanx. i wish more would post how they bolted the system up and what flanges they used. thanx again.
retain the cats if you're worried about the inspection. If you do end up leaving them off, the exhaust is going to "stink" a little more
leave em off!
well the idea i had was to go with the PS LT's and ORY and then run a single 3.5 or 4" cat and a single exhaust out the back the same size and use a dynomax ultraflow muffler. and a nice polished tip in about the stock position.
What do you guys think about this idea?
If your truck has two cats stock, you have to have two cats when you do anything else, or you won't pass inspection regardless..... And as far as the Rest of the Exaust goes, its personal opinion... I think one tip Looks Retarted, but like i said its personal opinion, do what your going to be happy with looking at every day.
i just got my truck inspected and heard that by 2010 every state will have a sniffer test. because i have no cats right now but i know this guy. he chewed me out in front of the employee's then just threw a sticker on.
CHEWED YOU OUT! screw that! i jus slap the darn things on LOL power the horse power people!
well i dont think they would know weather or not it came stock with one or two cats, and with OBD2 all they do is hook up the computer to the OBD2 plug under the dash and as long as you dont have any codes your good to go, they dont sniff the tailpipe and most dont even look under the vehicle.
I have Tunercat OBD2 tuner that i got from a buddy and was using it on my 2K Olds Bravada to tune out the EGR and AIR injection, along with a few other mods, and i may go ahead and buy the def file for this 03 and just put on the LT's and ORY and turn off the post cat O2 sensors and see what happens, this truck is due for inspection in feb i believe.
