should be just a keyed pos and then plugins for the rest.did you get the w/b a/f.?
No I did not get the wide band. There are three wires that come out of the guage,(red-12vswitched, black-ground, Violet- sensor wire).
The directions say to splice into the +voltage wire coming off the o2 sensor.
But I dont know which wire that is.
Can anyone help me???
if it were me And I couldnt find the answer online id get a buddy, a test light, some high heat tape and try each wire. might have to have truck on, wich is the down side. but hey its 1:10 in the mourning and im tired, so dont listen to every thing i say:yawn:
Since it is the 3-wire one, tap into the black colored wire.
Wait...is the O2 sensor the 3-wire or 4-wire?
i think its the 3 wire
3 or 4 wire, the two like color wires are either (+) or (-) since the heater doesn't care as long as it gets a circuit. so if its like a white, a grey, and two blacks...tis not the blacks. If you stick a DVOM on the correct wire it should tick between 0.00V and 0.99V
My 04 was the white wire...
Well I have goten it hooked up already, I used a pink wire w/a white stripe up by the computer. I looked at 2500HD6.0's set up and that was where his was hooked up by Allen. It works, but at wot it bounces from super rich to one light in the lean area, even at a steady cruise speed it is still constantly jumping from one extreme to another.
Its supposed to do that ...its a narrow band 02 sensor, all it knows is above 14.68 and below.it should go rich at wot.
Narrow-band O2 cuts off when in OL , typically they will bounce from 14.7 to 15.1 or so .
You go from CL (Closed Loop , O2 used for fueling) at idle to OL (Open Loop , no O2s) , PE (richen) and if DFCO is on you will see lean when off the gas and Cat Over Temp will cause it to richen sometimes , after some hard runs .
You need a wide-band .
yep, narrowband is useless for tuning. i tapped my exhaust right after the ORY and got a wideband o2 and a plx devices box. its nice to see what your running. probably saved my engine right after my header install, when i ran super lean. without it i would have loved all the power it was making right up till she locked up.
Thanks for all the advice on this, but things have changed and I am now selling everything but the long tubes.
