So whatcha think....
:nx:
Thats what i'm thinking....
either Nitrous 75 shot.. or Custom grind Cam...
Anyone know how much of a reduction in time at the track i could see with a 75shot?
all depends on how good you hook....say you run 9.9 now you would probrably go 8.9-9.1
Thats mildy modified Mustang GT killing time right there!!
it sure is just at the push of a button and one a 75 shot you will get 5-7 runs out of the bottle
brother just got off the phone with allen and melissa about talking about getting a custom tune for the 4.8L...Was guaranteed 30 lbs of torque!! Going to end up trying to sell the Diablo programmer...
A tune should be one of your first mods. The tune will enhance virtually every other mod you do after that.
I was going to buy a nelsons tune but they dont take American Express...
You guys think i can run this without a tune for a short matter of time say a week or so?? Doesnt say it requires a Computer Tune...
Comp Cams LS1 Camshaft - 212 / 218 .522 / .529 114 LSA 1200-6000 RPM Power Band. Excellent low-end power. Mild Camshaft, great for automatic cars with the stock or mild aftermarket torque converter and daily drivers. Works well with Crane 1.8 Roller Rockers.
i think it would be cool, Nelson accept credit cards? I hope so Im going on Halloween, suck to get turned arround.
Yeah, I think they take visa and discover cards ....
I'm going to end up passing on the cam right now. Been wanting to get a cam for a month or so... But I've Been talking to a few machine shops about working on my heads and then pick out a cam that will complement one another better.... Picking a cam is not as easy as most people think it is thats just my opinion..
I was quoted for CNC port and polish, 3 angle valve job and adding bronze valve guides to my heads for $400.. So i might take a bite on that. I just acquired another 4.8L from my brother so i have a donor for reassurance reasons.
Wow, who quoted you $400? What flow numbers did the give you? Texas Speed and Patriot do that but they wanted more than that when I called.
^ I'm not sure on the flow numbers personally myself... I would have to ask my brother...
My brother has been talking to the machine shop that does all the machine work for the chevy dealership. It's the same shop where he sends heads off to get checked all the time. They know my brother pretty well since he is the only one that really works on LS motors at his work and he talks to them at least once a week... so they quoted him that price for the work...
I'm still waiting on the reply from them to see if we can put some 2.00 intake valves and 1.55 exhaust in there as well without sacrificing in losses.. I'll keep you informed on how it goes.
Damn girl, for $400--that's a steal! I'd go for that first as well. Once you've got the heads on, it will be easier to pinpoint your cam specs...
