A buddy of mine called me and he just got a new Jeep SRT8. He used to have on of the nicest hemis I have ever seen, but he had bad traction issues. Last time we race when he had his truck I took about 1.5 lengths on him to 120. Now he wants me to run his new SUV. Its AWD w/ 420 hp hemi in it. Were suppose to meet up tonight. I was looking at the numbers on those things, and Im pretty sure that im going to get my ass handed to me tonight. What are yall thinking?

Hey man lets be nice. I should be able to hang with him to atleast 60 then right? I mean look at my 0-60. Gety a stopwatch out and time it, its low 5 seconds. His topend will be alot better than my trucks, its a dog 50+

It should be a close race your best of 13.78 to a predicted 13.49.
I don't know about kissing your arse goodbye, but he will beat you. It may be a full truck length or 1.5 lengths, but he will win. :( Those SRT-8 Jeeps are badass though...try and get a vid of the race!!!! Good luck!

Yeah I had a go at one on the freeway (truck runs better top end anyway) and he spanked me good. They're very quick.

Dont brake stall it, flash the converter and you will come out of the hole a little harder. If it is brand new then you may have a chance of hanging with him. You need to get a cam in that thing.

Guy canceled said we would do it tonday(wed) or tomorrow. He was in killeen all day for work and has a good friend in hawaii that he can't get a hold of. I was understanding but told him i want to do it soon to see how I stack up against him. I will get a video when the race happens,maybe tonight.

i raced the formula last night till about 120. i lost. this car is a freak. its bone stock with its exhaust cut off and pulled me by 3 cars to 120. idk man, kinda disappointing but you win some u lose some. i did good till 70 or so and it slowly walked me.:o
Yeah, some stock cars just ran a lot better than others...either that or he lied to you about what he had on it... Either way, just be gracious in your defeat and just do what you have to do to beat him next time...
he didnt lie. apparently the TA Formula's have stuff other fbody's dont like the fact that it has steeper gears and its the lightest of all fbodies. it was a pretty good race so i just take it in stride. it was very awesome to be in a pack of 5 or 6 fbodies and feel like my truck belonged. im still proud of my truck, its still pretty quick around these parts there isnt a whole lot to compete with truck wise thatd be worth it for me.
