Ok, I had a v6 in my truck, I pulled it and haven't removed the bracket that bolts to the frame.
here are some pics of the mount, I just want to be sure that this mount is correct.

Those are the cups that will bolt to the Gen3 adapter bracket :thumb: You'll need to remove the v6 brackets from the chassis and get the rubber mounts the bolt to the crossmember. The brackets pictured will bolt to the V8 rubber engine mounts that are bolted to the crossmember.

I got the rubber motor mounts sitting here as well, They have 3 bolt holes.
This is going on a 1987 2wd truck or what? Update your profile with some information so we'll know.

The area outlined in red protrudes from the mount and causes a gap between this mount and the adapter plates, only where the bolts holes are. In other words if you set this mount on a flat surface, there would be a gap between the flat surface and the bolt holes. I happened to find a set that was recessed and allowed it to set flush on the adapter plates. Which left me with no gap between the adapter plates and the bolt holes. Although I don't have mine together yet. This is what I noticed when looking at my setup. This may not even matter... just my :twocents:.
What I do is take a hole saw and drill a hole to remove most of the hump and grind the rest away. You can also heat it with a torch and pound it flat.
Never thought about that.....good idea..:thumb: my fried had a set at his house so it didn't cost my anything.

That is the second time I've heard about the hump. Mine the hump stuck out away from the engine block.

They are usually off by about 1/4". What I do is get one bolt in on the driver side and then put my hoist chain to a bolt hole on the driver side and lift just a bit to put a load on the rubber mount. That will give you the alignment for the passenger side hole. Just play around with it for a little bit and all will line up fine.
