Just seeing if there's anyone out there at the moment that might be interested in the truck. Mods are in sig. I'm seriously considering finding a 2wd reg. cab for a project truck or maybe just buying a new truck all together.... Might even consider trades.
Kelly Blue Book shows private sale value as 15,000.

Yeah I'm being wishy-washy at the moment. I would like to get a 3200 converter in there and see how it does. It's just not where I want it off the line. But I'd still like a regular cab truck, so if I can sell this and break even or get close, I might go that route. I owe a couple thousand more than it books for, so....

It's gonna happen sooner or later. When I bought the truck I got it for work. I needed the extended cab and the 4wd came in handy for some of the construction sites and so forth I'd have to drive on. But now, to me, that's just extra weight.
I was looking at the '70/'71's for a while, but I'm REALLY leaning toward maybe even like a '67 - '69 or a '57 shortbox. The body styles are awesome and I'd love to drop a 6.0 (or even a 6.2) in one. But there are some available at reasonable prices.
We're also looking to move, so the less I owe on a truck the better. If I could pick up an older style truck that has been fixed up pretty decent already, pay it off fairly quickly and then do a swap (a lot of them have 350's in them) I think that'd be pretty sweet.
So I'm going to start doing some research, maybe find a classic Chevy truck forum, etc., pick Greg's brain, Billy's, Allen's and anyone else who has messed with those years of trucks.
You have to admit, either of these with a 6.0, built 4l80e, and some bolt-ons would be a sweet little machine:

2.) I don't want or need 4wd anymore.
3.) I want a truck I love, not like.
4.) I've always liked older cars and trucks and would love to have one similar to those above.
5.) I can buy one similar to the above in good shape with a decent powerplant for around $10k and drive it as-is until I'm ready to have a 6.0 or LS? dropped in it.

I am with the DON'T DO IT side.
Yeah, it would definitely have to have A/C and hopefully disc brakes. The suspension can always be improved if need be. New weather stripping to make it quieter if need be. Some sound-deadening material in the cab if need be. I'm ready for another project and I think it would be fun. I had a 64 Rambler American I was going to stuff a 390 in years ago but never had the money. I had a Plymouth Valiant Scamp I was going to "fix up" and never had the money to. I might get sick of an older truck in 5 years - who knows. It's just something I want to do.

Ive been wanting to get one of those trucks for a while myself. I'll probably sell my 02 sooner or later and do that.
i say you should keep the truck and if anything get you a project to build up over the next year or so, you can sell the mods off your 03 to fund your project truck
