Not big news, but looks like aslow night on here. I guess all the young guys are out partyin it up on a Friday. All that's left is us old guys (hi Greg). :lol:
Anyway, tomorrow the ASP underdrive pulleys go in. Not sure that I'll notice much of a difference but it gives me one more thing to add to my sig. woo hoo.
I liked it bc it allowed the engine to rev a little quicker.

Just got mine a few days ago. Eric sent mine same time as yours but they apparently shot mine out of a cannon to India to be inspected, who in turn tied it to a milk jug and floated it across the Pacific where it landed in NY where my brother was fortunate enough to find it and he sent it the rest of the way.
I just got the AC belt - I'm hoping they cross-referenced it correctly. They gave me a 040335. Anyone know if that's correct?
That's for the a/c belt. The last three numbers in the length. 04 = 4 ribs and 335 is 33.5" long. My engine belt had to be 2.5" shorter than stock to work with the fbody pulleys.
Why didn't you get the crank and alt. pulleys? Do they not make them for 03-07 Classic? I gained a good amount of torque to the wheels with those things... Make sure that you have an air wrench...or risk damaging your crank pulley by sticking a screwdriver in there to stop the belt from turning... The air wrench sure makes it easy...
The swap was pretty simple. Stripped the crank bolt getting it out (or it was stripped somehow before) but all-in-all not too hard. Virgil had another crank bolt so we used that. Can't really say as of yet that I feel anything. I'm kind of disgruntled with my truck at the moment anyway (see post in street section).
So...whatever to it all. I wish I could start over.

The crank bolt we took out was new....just put in on the last cam swap.
I may be swapping converters to see if that helps cure my frustration.

Your 2600 should be fine with what you have currently. The next step up I would recommend (and which you already know) is the 3000. It might cut into your gas mileage a little, but it should cure what ales you (and your truck)...
It's one of those "I think I feel a difference" but it's not substantial enough to have the seat-of-the-pants improvement. The 2600 stall isn't cutting it. I guess the powerband of the 224 cam is too high to be a good match for the converter. My 60' times are going to SUCK.
Do you get a free restall with the Yank convertor that you already have?
Installing the alt pulley may take HP away from the engine since it will be spinning the alt faster. It will restore voltage back to the battery, the biggest gain you'll probably get from it.
Always put a new bolt in the crank every time. They are not reusable and may break during a second installation. I think they'll about $4.00 at the dealership and will save you much headache if you strip or break one, or have a pulley come loose or off. They are a stretch to yeild type bolts just like the head bolts and I have a sneaking suspicion that you would not reuse the head bolts...
I don't believe Yank gives restalls.
I'm not having any issues so I may just leave the alternator pulley off.

Yes you did Moze and you witnessed it happening first hand when i broke the bolt in the 5.3, that's why i was telling you to get the new bolt, but you will be okay with the one we used

I knew that it was better to get a new one, I didn't know the specifics as far as (quoting Greg): "They are a stretch to yeild type bolts...".
Moze, it was a new one. We always use a new bolt if the old one has to come out.
I think the bigger stall will help you out alot; not as much as a 2wd rc though. :twocents:
