Getting farmtruc looking nice

Ok, I think I have the drivetrain about where I want it. It's fast enough for a daily driver (i can't believe i said that) for now. However, some worked heads and cam are coming up.
But, I want to get the appearance mods going. All these nice looking trucks have me thinking about some exterior mods.
Obviously, from the looks of my truck, I'm not into the bling, lol. So, the mods are going to subtle, but just enough to get it looking good.

Here are my plans, now I need to know where to get the stuff.

New smoothie bumper
New billet grill
New headlights, turns and signals (i like clear up front only)
Cowl hood
Tinted windows (got that covered)

btw, speaking of tint, I just tuned an SS Silvy that had a front tinted window, 5%, WOW WOW WOW, what a difference, it felt cozzy and all the glare was gone. No more bright lights at night and during the day (well it was raining) the sun glare was unoticable. I like that idea and probably will do it. I know it's illegal, blah blah, lol, but it looked great.

What color are you going to paint it? The same maroon color? If not red/black/blue/yellow which one.

I think the mods to the exterior you listed would be great. Give the truck a fresh look. On the cowl hood, how big are you going 2',4'??I think the hood will make the biggest different. :rock:

No pics, lol, it's just a reg. cab '94 chevy, stepside.

I'll go with the 2" hood or maybe 3".

Color, it's going to be a dark grey / silver with ghost flames in light grey, you will hardly see the flames.

maybe a 10" wing and a 6 tip exhaust, lol. oh and 3 sets of fog lights.

Are you going with a tonneau? Or too much weight?? :burnout:

:smile: I would defineately do the 5 % tint it makes a huge difference in the way the truck will look and the cowl hood would look good it's about time you made in look like a city truck

i got 5% and have gotten ONE ticket already in a year and a half.. 165 bucks, but i still have 5% all the way around... lemme know if you dont have a hookup on that. ill see if i can get my guy to do it.

one of my coworkers got the 94-98 silverado grille and took off his 88-92 grille, he has it laying around, id bet he would sell it cheap if you want it. i am real good friends with a bodyshop owner in floresville, i have connections with used parts guys around town as well. if you need me to find you a specific part let me know..

Waiting on pictures. Sounds like you have it down to a T. Sounds good can not wait to see the pictures.

Dont forget colormatched grille and bumper!! You could trade out your stepside for a fleetside bed, i personally like the fleet better on the obs trucks.

Seriously hmm what else... clears on the front if you are into that stuff, tint or get candied taillights (just dont get altezzas). Maybe some smaller rims 16's or 17's, how bout 454ss chrome rims (what i have on mine they are nice, give it a stock yet customized look). Im sure ill think of some more later, that will get you started.

Yea got some pics of that 5% front tint? I have 5% on my sides and back window but it would look a lot better with a front tint too...

Do some Caddy taillights then it'll be pimp :lol:

Dont forget lots of stickers! Maybe some mud flaps with the chrome necked ladies. Stay away from fart cans they will blow your motor, go with some little red express stacks. Maybe one of those fake blow off whistles.

I had 5% on my windshield its cool during the day but at night its a pain. I had to drive with my birghts on. i had 5 on the sides 5 on the windshield and double 5 on the back. i got pulled over after having it for 2 days and the cop made me pull it off right there or he was going to impound my truck. Its real fun getting all that glue off the windshield too. i would just go with 35% ive been pulled over about 10 times for my sides and they have never noticed the front windshield.

Dude I got 5% over factory on the back and 20% on the doors and 50% on my windshield. I have never been pulled over

You can get a tint exemption if you get a form from the state and have a doc fill it out

Then you can have what ever tint ya want

get the dark reflective tint... heheh.... you can roll around with the windows half way down and peak at people... they never know your face!

Georgia has no tint law right now! Just got mine re-tinted at 5% all round again. had it 5% on my old F-150 too ...i love it.

instead of a smoothie I would go with a turbo-diesel bumper up front

I love driving around at night and peeking out at folks, they always look hard to see who it is! I cant wait to get it done to my truck now!

also allen, goto mothers and check out their "top of the line" stuff the huber optics tint, its a 30% , ive yet to be pulled over in this truck or my old one when i had it

it also gets rid of heat by like 80% but keeps heat inside and etc...when ya need it call them up, the only down side is that it takes a couple months for the bubbles to go away im goin on month 3 and i got like 12 bubbles left, its because that stuff is so thick that its hard for the moister to leave

I have 5% all the way around on my truck and havent been pulled over yet(knock on wood).
