Colors, layout, new bulletin board, etc?
thanks for the input,

Not sure if it's an option, but I think a chat room (I know, I sound like I'm 14 huh) would be cool for those subjects a bunch of people want to get in on. Again, not sure if it's even possible...
Since we're getting a lot of member from outside the Texas area, another cool thing would be some kind of map showing where the members are, but that would probably mean a whooooole lot of work for someone.
One of the guys from my high school class reunion layed out where everyone currently lives on Google earth. That was cool.
Yeah that would be cool. On the heavily populated areas, we could just have one map tag with the number of members in that area and maybe a list of names?
I would like to see a "preview" of the topic when you place your mouse over the title.
Second that...
I'd like 100% of subscribed posts emailed instead of only a portion so I don't waste time looking for updated posts.
Free turbo with every 1,500 posts.
Ok, i'll see what i can do, i'll start looking into the options that are available, those sound like some good ideas.
Especially my last post, huh?

Okay Moze, send my 5 turbos to my home address. :thumb: I'm sure glad you have such generosity.
Just need to see you frequent poster card to make sure you've had it punched every 1500 posts...
I like the colors and the scheme, its very simplistic but not too plain. Easy to read.
I like the chat room idea because then if we have an immediate problem and someones on, instead of posting we can go to the chat room.
we have a lot of upgrades over at qst, i can tell u the chat room is hard to get members in and some people have used our google map feature so it may be worth while. we have vbulletin so its super easy to work with. just some suggestions tho i like this site just fine the way it is!

free turbos, wtf, lol.
vbulletin, so many things i could do to this site. front page that has a couple webcams of the shop so people can see stuff getting modified, a custom theme, free photo storage account for forum members ( so even if they do leave the site forum isnt full of broken photobucket pics) chat box on forum top.
vB is a great software. i like what we r able to do and i like what we r about to do... if u need help allen ill help some.

Man I missed that - when was that?? Anyway, I really think people would use it. We get a lot of "NEED HELP NOW PLEASE!" type stuff...
Just another thought - the ability to correct/edit thread titles would be nice...
I was around the site back in 03-04 and remember there being an actual website with tech articles and such and not just a forum. Whatever happened to that?
Hot-to Articles, Swap Notes, etc. I miss all of that stuff. Yeah, I know there wasn't a TON of information, but it had potential.

I realize Allen is a busy guy with the full blown tuning business now, so I'm guessing that is why it is just a forum now. Pretty much fully automated.
well maybe others like ducky and jeff can help him with it. its really hard keeping up with a page like that but it is nice to have more than just a forum. im gonna be the first to say thank u to the guys that run this site because u dont understand how much work it takes to build a quality site until u branch out on ur own and do it. without this site i prob wouldnt own and run qst, so thank u admins and mods for doing the work for this site! :hshake:
a great plug-in for a front page in vbulletin is vbadvanced. i use it on my computer site. it makes putting an article on the front page as easy as making a post basically. then you can just add little boxes or have videos in them or whatever. also the video gallery like fullsizechevy has is pretty nice for members. i may eventually go to that image system also.

If nobody wants to use a chat room, why not make it possible to instant message other members on the forum? That way you can instantly get info instead of reading pm's every few minutes. I dont real dont post much on here but i am on here a few times a week reading stuff. Im just thankfull for the site. Without it i probably would have a hypertech tuner and think my truck is fast.
What about a part of the site where you can see a list of suppliers for ls1 truck parts, kind of like a manufacturers midway. Then members that have used those suppliers can rate the suppliers. It would give members an easy way to look up the best suppliers and the best deals on parts without having to post a question and then wait for a response.
