Hey I was wondering if you guys could help me out...Im getting the 6 Liter soon and I chose not to get that 236/236 cam put in..It would be to lopey and would get annoying..Plus its a beast..
I was thinking smaller..Heres my setup when the engine goes in (I will put the cam in before the engine goes in)
-TB Stall
- Shift Kit w/ vette servo
- LS1 Fans
- Tranny Cooler
- 3.73s
- 42 Lb Injectors
Any suggestions on what size?
I want some lope..but not tooo much...and Some mid to high end power...
I would get that cam, and just tell the tuner to raise your idle. And, i would go for a different stall than the Tb stall, IMO
see the thing is this will be my daily driver for a while...Im gonna keep the TB stall until I get my ricer and then upgrade to a bigger yank...

or if you plan to actually keep the stall id consider a lingenfelter ls1-gt2-5

i myself am doing an LS1 in about a month, i have my motor and the cam that i had was a MS3, well i chose to do the same thing your doing, down size, so im going with a TR224 adn a TT3000, im gonna trust all the guys over on PT.Net when they say a TT3000 is very streetable

look at my mods with a 6.0 and the cam i have is bigger, i get on average 18-19mpg on the freeway at 70-75mph and if i keep out of it 14-16mpg on the back roads, go with the bigger cam and stall

why not the 224/224 112lsa. what would be the +/- over the 222/222 112lsa?

too small, those are cam that are good for 5.3's, 6.0's love more duration and lift, i would go with a 236 cam, but this bigger cam eats up the nitrous and hits like a mofo and to still get better gas mileage then my dad's 06 SSS, the bigger cam will make the better power

with a way smaller cam than yours (should be here today) 4.10 gears (hopefully by the end of this month) and a 150 shot i would hit 11's no problem in my fat ass ecsb. ill be happy if i get as great of gas milage as you do(nice milage BTW) but im sure ill be more drivable. just my opinion. i would consider your cam for a 408
ahh this is somewhat true the times you are looking at were with my 5.3 with stock heads, i haven't been to the track yet with this setup, true the cam should be smaller for me but i bet you my 150 shot puts down more hp with this cam then it would with the smaller cam and that's my goal i built this motor to run better on nitrous then on motor which it hit like a mofo last night, and my drivability is great TRT Performance did a bad ass job on the tune, and i am in the 11's without a doubt in my mind

Allen sent a retune today, so hopefully I'll have it tomorrow or thursday. I'd still like to check it with HP Tuners if you have time before Friday Virgil.
the TR224 112lsa would be badass since u want it as a good daily driver...and get a bigger stall...i have a 3400 and feels great!! everyone said it was going to be a big hassle for a daily driver, my opinion HELL NO!!! it feels awesome!!! and i'm still getting some good gas mileage, 17mpg.

The "GM" fairy brought me my TB Stall today haha....My shift kit will be here tommarow...

IMO I would look into a 222/224 on a 112 LSA with XER lobes.I do not think that bigger is always better,but that is my opinion
I know that I've been pretty happy with the Lingenfelter cam on my 6.0l It's my daily driver, and I didn't want to much of a lope to it.

well i blew my converter on the first run, but i left on motor with a 1.77 60' hit the button and heard a weird noise so i let off the button at the 330' and made it down the track and went 13.0 and as soon as i pulled off it died, had to trailor it home the next day, my trap speed was 98mph haha, so it's back at the trans shop waiting for the converter to be shipped in and hopefully will be at Redline saturday night
