Does removing the pass. side headlight and blinker assembly really put that much more air into the CAI? I have seen a lot of guys doing that and I am planning on doing that when I eventually go to the track...Quote:

i know in the heat it was good for a 1/10 of a second and dropped the IAT's 10*.
way to go, I'm just aiming that with Turbo, preatty nasty beast u own!!!!
I was looking at your previous time and you went 12.53 @106.73, and this one you went 12.48 @ 106.37.... weird, I wonder why your mph was slower?
Bluecajun i was really curious on what mods you have done to your kick ass truck. Is there a site that has is listed?
I love how me and blue have the same truck haha...But mines sloooooowwwwwwwwwwww

my truck is on nelson's website along with my mods but that has changed.
mods are:
Doc tune via efi live, ls1 fans, airaid cai, homeade intake tube, asp u/d pulley, tb bypass, ls6 intake, 28.8# injectors, tr220 cam, 918 springs, manley pushrods, pacesetter lt's, custom 3" exaust (y pipe style, cutout, aerochamber), built 60E, yank SS3600, eaton lsd w/ 4.10's, 28x11.5x16 et streets.
Nice job! What rims(width) do you run your et streets on?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(duckysbht @ Apr 9 2007, 11:24 PM) </div>prolly the larger converter. thats not much slower anyways...he coulda taken a crap and picked that mph back up.Quote:

after all the money and work that went into the ls6 intake and the minimal gains, would you go for it again? the reason i ask is because it was one of the mods i was looking into but i havent seen anyone put down concrete evidence that the ls6 intake has much benifit to it. maybe some ported heads will take advantage of that intake
Well the only difference in my truck and yours is the following:
Tuner
UD pulleys
LT's
my TB stall vs. your yank SS3600
my 3.42 vs your 4.10's gears
and your LS6 intake.
Plus your are 200lbs lighter then my truck.
What is your truck weight?
Also did you see a benefit with the ls6 intake?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(GMCwantsLS1 @ Apr 10 2007, 06:48 AM) </div>stock alloys (16x7 i believe)Quote:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TXsilverado @ Apr 10 2007, 10:10 AM) </div>the larger converter has the same characteristics as my old tci did (5k shift extensions) so that isn't any help. like i said above. i had a tail wind on my old time and no wind at all on this run.Quote:

this setup is still not tweaked up to it's maximum potential. this is the second time i've taken it to the track and the first was with a messed up tranny trapping 107. the ls6 intake feels way better than the truck did in all rpms. remember, i'm still runing a mild cam and stock heads. timing and fueling isn't even on point. i've been experiencing a dip in timing down to 15* upon take off and a/f in low to mid 12's.
so to answer your question, yes i'd do the intake swap all over again.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(shwarmy @ Apr 10 2007, 12:19 PM) </div>i have no idea on weight. no spare, tailgate, swaybar, seat.Quote:

yes i do see a benefit with the intake.
How about the pulleys - were they worth it? I've got a set on the way, so I'm curious.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DamnYankee @ Apr 10 2007, 02:27 PM) </div>i can't really say because i run the short belt at the track. (bypassing the power steering only)Quote:

Nice Runs!! I cant wait to get my cam in and get to the track!

i need to stop pouring money in this thing and start restoring my chevelle, hehe!
i kind of like the all motor stuff b/c it's more rewarding. however the juice would make it fly.
Those are some really impressive times! Well done. Have you changed anything with your suspension to get it to hook like that? 1.73 60' is damn good for a 2wd truck.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(krwyellowZ28 @ Apr 17 2007, 11:25 AM) </div>thanks. stock suspension. it's been a best of 1.71 though.Quote:

so what did you do to drop 2 seconds
all bolt-ons (cam only)
i love it because my buddy has a 02 lightning maxed out as in hes running 14lbs of boost and he only runs a 12.9
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(geestyle4 @ Jun 1 2007, 12:40 PM) </div>he needs some stickier tires or better tune cuz that should be into the 12's pretty deep.Quote:
