Anyone know of a bracket to relocate the compressor to the top w/o buying a new compressor. I know Street & Perf. sells their compressor and bracket, but I was wanting to stay with the stock compressor.
5.3 going in a '92 rcsb by the way.
S & P sells the compressor, brackets, idler pullies, and belt for $600.00.
I would love to do it cheaper though.

You can relocate it in to the trash. That's the cheapest way out. :point:
Before anyone says (just notch the frame) the transdapt plates get right in the way of the compressor. So no worky.

There was a post earlier about how to do it. It has been done in the past. I am going to attempt it myself once I get everything in place and going good. In the other post there were pictures of the install. I can't remember who it was that did it.

This may be the one you are thinking of.

If that link dosen't work (I'm new to this), the title of the thread is:
LS1 AC compressor mounting solution, For 88-95 GM trucks,
and was started June 2, 2005.

Beatertruck, I notched my frame and used the stock 02 compressor. It worked well. I had to grind a small area off of the A/C bracket but that took about minutes. My compressor came off of a WS6 though, not a truck. I'd like to try one off of a truck to see how much extra clearance I'd get next to the frame.

I bought the S & P set-up. No more headaches. Bolts up in 5 minutes. Done. Gar

Yeah, I did the S&P a/c setup on my last truck and it was beautiful. I never got it charged or hoses made up for it though.

PSWIRED did the a/c bracket and made it work on a truck motor..... not sure of the post.
Hey what happened to our sticky post with all the part numbers and info??

I believe PS used a bracket off of an early 90's Camaro and then modded it . But Gary is right , the S and P set up is pretty easy . What I don't like about it though is that the compressor drones when I accelerate - as if it's not properly balanced and the Gatorback belt seems to constantly shed excessive amounts of rubber . Been thinking about seeing what they can do to help me resolve these issues (such as replace the compressor :bash: ) The hoses cost me about $60 to get made up and about $250 at the local repair shop to flush , evacuate and charge.

so are the hoses all custom made? I am needing some made for mine, what did you start with?
