I used a flywheel from a 5.3 or 4.8 with the spacer. The spacer went between the torque converter and the flywheel. If you have the flat flywheel, you put the spacer between the flywheel and the crankshaft.
Spacer between the flywheel and converter? you lost me on that one, I have the flywheel from a 99-02 5.3 for my engine
It's not really a spacer, it's more of an adapter. But yes, you will need it.
This is the adapter/spacer you need. Don't get the bolts they have listed, they are too short. Just go to your GM dealer and get the bolts for a 2002 chevy truck with the 6.0 motor.

I had to put my spacer between the torque converter and the flywheel. I have the 5.3 flywheel that is curved.
what do you have right now?
like engine size, and flexplate?
crateenginedepot.com sells the flexplate, spacer and bolts to adapt a newer short crankshaft Gen3 engine to fit to the old style transmissions. They also list the parts individually along with the spacer and longer bolt part numbers.
