6.0 lq9 or 6.2 l92?
I have some doubts! Right now I have a 6.0 lq9 on My 01 silverado all boltons, cam etc. There's a 6.2 out of a 2010 escalade that I can get My hands on for 1k. I know that all My boltons fit right up on the 6.2. But does anyone know if its worth the swap? And if anyone has done it does it really make enough differece? So if yall can share some info or HP numbers please post them.6.0 lq9 vs 6.2 l92....

THe l92 heads outflow half the aftermarket 6.0 heads. For 1k, I can't see you going wrong. I love how my 6.2 runs.

6.2 bro 6.0 345hp to 403hp6.2

6.2 is pretty sweet, but I don't think I would bother if you already have a LQ9. You are going to have to spend some cash dealing with either using the newer PCM or converting the crank sensor to the 0411. You will have to do something with the throttle body too.

You could always spend the 1k you were going to use to buy that motor and put it towards the l92 heads and put them on your Lq9 if you dont want to go through the trouble of doing the swap with PCMs and what not. But those new 6.2s are sweet for sure!

Why not just buy the 6.2 take the stuff you want......aka the heads and part out the rest of it I am sure you could get most of your money back selling it off on the forums.

That's what I'm talking about. All of you make sense. That's why Im not sure what to do yet. My next step was going to be l92 heads but now with the complete motor at the same price as the heads its tempting. I guess ill wait and see which motor gets the most thumbs up.

If u can get the whole motor for that... I'd say take the heads and intake and sell off the rest. The head intake combo is where the 6.2 shines. With those heads milled down to get your cr up u would be very happy. And wouldn't have to deal with the problems stated above...

Yup buy the motor and use the heads and intake on ur lq9

I'd use the whole motor. You gain 12 cubes and bad ass heads. The converter box can be had for around 300 bucks IIRC.
