i dont think u can bore a lq4 block out that much
yea bore it .30 over...dont know how much though...l92 heads around 1,200
.030 over makes it a 6.06
ls3 bore is 4.065
Ive seen this built before but honestly cant find the site where...Im pretty sure it can be done basically bore it to a 376 and have either stock ls3 internals and what not or go forged and have it bored to 376...Just not sure if i would have to get the truck accessories for an l92 or jus use the accessories i already have.Basically need some info on if i can build an ls3 out of an lq4/9 since i already have a harness for my lq4 from nelson...
It's a .060 overbore, it's been done, anytime you hear of a 414 that's how much it's bored out, along with being stroked. Thing is the extra few inches isn't worth losing the cylinder wall thickness. Most guys build 414's because they blew up their 408's (which is a .030 overbore). Mind you the LS3 heads like the bigger bore because of issues with intake valve shrouding.
oh ok thx yall im guessing it would just be ten times easier to just get one of the ls3 engines out of a vette or camaro ss and get the harness or buy the controller kit from jegs. Also i know i would have to change the reluctor wheel over to a 24x.A good size cam and fast intake and you basically an ls3 500hp maybe...Ive been looking at those ls3's on ebay for around 5500 with next to no mileage (of course need to buy quite a bit of things to make it complete)but theyre pretty decently priced.
my bad .30 over is 370
414's are a 4.005 bore and 4.100 stroke a 418 is a 4.080 bore (opened up from the stock ls3 bore of 4.065) and 4.000 stroke, but i think a 4.060 with a 4.000 crank is still a 414 ive just heard more people running the taller stroke.
A 4.065 bore and 4.100 stroke is a 427 too, i think. Anyway i wouldent go to a 4.060 id stay at 4.030
