262mph at Bonneville
Unfortunately I didn't make it, even though I had plans and a flight to, but just got word David/Carl and the crew up there ran 262mph in the vette.
Last time was 257mph or something like that, to gain that much more is awesome!
Changes from the last race a couple months ago was:
Pulled all the electronic junk from the car, modules, wiring, dbw, etc.
Installed one of our simple engine harnesses
Powered by an 02 fbody pcm.
Mechanical throttle body
They'll attempt to back that up tomorrow.

That's awesome Allen! Hard work has been validated...!

262....thats all?
J/K. Great work Allen. Tell him he needs to get you the video of that bad boy.

Thanks guys,
video is very boring, trust me, lol. all you see is the inside of the car, and a white background, since there are no reference points out there, except mountains far away, it appears the car isn't even moving.
i have some, i'll get'em up from last time.

good deal. that car is bad ass

I bet Mic's truck or the Farmtruc could do it ;)

Update:
at the 2.5 mile, car was doing awesome, faster than the previous run, so it was going to be even a faster overall mph.
But, unfortunately, the car go sideways at 250mph and spun out.
Nobody was hurt.
The cars trunklid flew off, doorskin flew off, rear window flew off, but everything is ok.
So, the record remains, he still has it, and the previous 2 records, but the 262mph wasn't backed up.
Next on the list, install the front custom fascia, custom hood, get all the wind resistance down, we should hit about 280mph!!!!
It's funny how much HP body mods are worth in the wind tunnel.

I assume the doors are fixed, i.e. don't open anymore? Did you guys put the "flange" at the bottom of the windshield like you were discussing? How about a "tail cone" so there's not a rapid drop-off for the wind coming down off the rear deck lid?
Just some ideas...glad to hear the car wasn't damaged too much.
