building a motor
I've made up my mind going to build a 395 stroker Bore size will be 3.905 stroke will be 4.125 my head package will be the AFR 225 or the trick flow 225 guess im askin if some one will spec a cam for me and what kind of power should i expect? Would like to make some where around 500 to the tires also would like to use some pressure later on but will run na for a yr or so keep in mind this will be in a 5.3 block yes i know it would be better to use an LQ4 or LQ9 block but i wanna say hey look its just a 5.3:D i guess im asking you guys if this would be a decent combo to run on nitrous for a while then switch to a tvs2300 or a turbo

also will be using a 9" and either a viper spec T56 or 80 Weither 6L or 4L depends on if the have the support on the 6 yet

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but that motor will have major oiling issues... not to mention will it work.

ok what will cause the oiling problems?not bein a smart ass just wondering this is why i posted

The piston would have to come down SOOOO far into the cylinder that it would fall out of the bottom lol. That big of a stroke on that small of a bore will put the bearings, rods, pistons, crank in such a bind.... unless you had a 1" spacer in between the block and the heads. Bigger bore shorter stroke is better for boost as a general rule.

I was thinking 4.125" stroke was a little too much. From what I know/have read 4.00" is the max you wanna go. Why not go with a 6.0....and you could bore it .030" ove if you wanted a 408...throw a 4.00" crank in and have a big cube motor...402...with a more square bore vs. stroke.

I agree on the shorter 4.0" stroke and 6.0 overbore.
Bigger strokes put tremendous side loads on pistons and rods.
You could run 408 with some stock L92 heads
L92 heads flow 300+cfm out of the box and cost half the price of AFR 225's

You also need to decide between N/A or boost because will want to set your heads up specific for each. Low compression for boost high compression for N/A.
