Just wondering what the concensus is on here about tranny temps on an 85-95 degree day, in mixed driving conditions. Not driving it hard, and maybe sitting in a bit of traffic, but nothing out of the ordinary. Im regularly seeing 210-220 degrees under these situations. Im no expert but this seems way high for regular driving, imo. Its an 07 nnbs 4.8 with under 20k on the odometer and no trans cooler
Get you a 40k trucool and you will drop the temps to about 170 degrees.
yeah i want to get one, but im thinkin of just sayin screw it, and wait a little bit to get the FTL lvl 7 70E. Do you think this is too hot tho?
That is probably about right for not having a cooler.

Too hot IMO. I have a gauge but still get scared when I see close to 200.
Someone here might talk about fresh 60E's at 260...
yeah Ive always heard that anything over 200 degrees is too hot. Seems like a good limit to me anyways, even is there is still some wiggle room
I went to the grocery store up the street, and to my bank maybe three miles away. Sittin at the last light before I got to my house, 217 degrees. What a joke
Definitely seems to hot for my liking if you are just normally driving it. I would definitely get a nice big cooler on there! Normally under normal driving conditions the trans fluid temp should be close to engine temps. Vince
When you say engine temp, do you mean coolant temp (dumb question I know, but just trying to clarify)? Because as you know, these motors normally operate at over 200 degrees, so then my trans temp would be in line with what youre saying. Otherwise, are you referring to an actual engine/block temp reading?
