$500-$700 in labor.
Jesus that's high.
Advantage charged me a full days labor for my drop kit. I think it was $400 even.
i have heard of installs as high as 1200. 700 seems fair, 400 is a good deal.
up or down?
my buddy paid about 1200 for his 04 gmc 2500. Other buddy has done about 4 of em. I'd recommend searching for a more off-road base forum (if you're going up) and see if any local guys can lend a hand. They really aren't hard...just time consuming.
Usual install time from the manufacturer is 10-12 hours. Shop will probably base it off of that @ $70 an hour.
I've done 3 all by myself. First one took 10 hours, next 2 I did in 8 each. One was a removal from my truck and put on a buds.
It is honestly very simple. Take off everything off, install drop brackets, put back together.

Thats pretty much all u need. Maybe a welder, my super lift required a small plate to put in, Skyclunker didn't.
ntwonline.com, got my superlift to my door for 1245. Lot better quality than the skyclunker in my opinion, just the shocks suck.
