Do you not have to pass emissions testing in your area?
Carb, intake, fuel pressure regulater, air cleaner...
no greg no emmisions we're okie boys whooo
Didnt say it in his signature anywhere so I thought I'd toss that up. Fill in your sig so we'll know who you are and where from. :thumb:
his name is kendall he's from mcalester same as me he's the official F.A.S.T. camera man hahahha but get your crap updated kendall you dooche
i've only been a member one day cut me some slack haha..what about my ignition system? would i have to use an HEI dist. and junk all the factory stuff?
Never did one but I would think you could use everything but the wiring for the injecters. Everything else should work just fine with it from the original setup including the ignition and map sensor. You may have to put resistors on the injecter wiring to fool the puter into thinking they're still hooked up.
Ya i saw a similar swap on here and they said they went through the wiring and eliminated what wasn't needed from the comp. How exactly would you eliminate certains signals to the computer? Also the computer controls the lockup of my converter i'm pretty sure but that should still work shouldn't it? I'm not sure what the comp uses to determine lockup but other than that my trans will be fine cuz its not elec. controlled
Also what does the computer base the electronic advance off of?
Not too sure how it would handle that. Its all about vacuum, throttle position, engine RPM. I'm not exactly sure I'd even do the carb conversion since for about the same amount of money you'd spend on a carb and intake you can pick up a 4.8 or 5.3 complete with harness. I'm sure there are kits to do the conversion but I just can't figure out why I would do one.
