Ive always heard every lbs100=1 tenth
reason i was asking guys is i was going to purchase a stepside and was wondering if it was worth it or not
No its not worth it. put your engine in the bed and your gas tank in front i bet you pick up 2 1/2 seconds easy. weight distribution on trucks sux.:burnrub:
how much does the rear bumper and tailgate weigh approx.?
I thought you were doing it for cosmetic reasons. 1. your truck weight distribution is 60%front/40%back, If you could get that even'd out to 50/50(unlikely w/ext.cab) and 2. get rid of axle wrap(leaf springs), it would amaze you how much you would take off your times. It wont help making rear any lighter. put a tejaunnou cover on it,or make the rear sit 2"-3" lower then the front.
i thought 100 lbs. equal 8 hp
