Go 4.10s...youll be happy with em...trust me
Preicision Gears
this is my daily driver and i drive on the freeway a lot...
so do i but 4.10's aren't really that bad...that's what my truck has...but i agree it's all about preference on the gears...just go with a good set like precision gear and they will have little to no whine and are one of the best out there
I run 4.10's in my daily driver and love them. Don't waste your money on 3.73's unless you run a stall because you won't feel much of a difference from 3.42's (if that's what you have). Oh, and you can't beat factory gears, they don't whine and they are plenty strong for your truck.
i have a truck with 3.73 and now i have one with 3.23 and they run almost the same times at the track. no stall. i would consider 4.10 or 4.30s like dales if i was in the market to up grade. which i should.....
I was able to pick up .06 in the 1/4 with 4.10's on 25.6" tires. I run 2600 rpm at 70 mph in overdrive. A 28" tire will put you in the 2400 range with 4.10's and 2200 with 3.73's.
