Anyone know the thread size & pitch of the Coolant Temp Sender? Gotta order an adapter for an aftermarket gauge sender.

I used to know. Look on Autometer&#39;s site they&#39;ll have everything you need.

I did. They don&#39;t specify. I was looking for an adapter to use with the oil pressure & coolant temp senders. I called GM for the oil pressure specs, but they claim to not have the coolant temp sender specs. Here&#39;s a link to Autometer&#39;s Accessories page: LINK There&#39;s a 50/50 chance of "guessing" the right one. :laugh:

BTW, the oil pressure sender&#39;s thread specs are 16 x 1.5 (mm). The o2 sensor thread specs are 18 x 1.5 (mm). If I can find out what the coolant sender specs are, I can order both adapters from Autometer (JEGS), and have that straight.

I bought Autometer&#39;s Designer Black oil press, water temp, fuel, and volt gauges. Gotta save some money for exhaust, then save more to buy the 5" tach & speedo. Naturally, fuel & volts were simple to connect. The NPT fittings that come with the oil pressure & water temp gauges are too big for the 5.3L (or other LS-based) setup. I may call Autometer tomorrow to see if they can tell me directly. Hadn&#39;t had free time to do today.

While I can&#39;t answer your question about sender sizes, Equus makes an adapter kit to go from standard to metric and it is specifically for gauges. It&#39;s available at Checker Auto parts for &#036;8.99. Equus part number 6848. Here&#39;s a link.

I used this kit to mount my senders for both water temp (right head) and oil pressure (fitting above the filter)

I called Autometer and they told me exactly what I needed. I forgot about that, I was having trouble figuring out what I needed too. As far as S&P goes, they are just too expensive for this poor boy. All their stuff is like chrome and stuff and they want twice as much as it&#39;s worth.(Sorry I have sort of a bad taste in my mouth, kinda tastes like mid-length headers that don&#39;t fit and leak)

Man, I hear you on the header nightmare. Wait until you try to buy the A/C parts mounts and brackets they make. OUCH&#33;&#33;

Aww, hell... I could&#39;ve gotten them locally? Oh well... I already ordered what I need from JEGS. Per GM schematics, the PCM pays no mind to the oil pressure sender. Could this be true?
