flip that intake over and take a pic of it, is it the cathederal port or rectangular port? i know they make both, just wanting to know which one you got. the rectangular port wont work with the 243 heads.
I think you're still going to want a bigger cam than that. I may sound like I'm preaching here, but you're putting all this money into machine work, intake swap, blah blah, and then skimping and going with a baby cam. You can EASILY daily a 220/220 or 224/224. Don't get me wrong, it's your build, but like Tyler said... a cam like that will make you say... MAN, I wish I had more. My suggestion to you would be the TSP 220 or something similar. It's small enough to retain low end and drivability with a small (2500-2800) stall, but big enough to give you very noticeable gains.
i would call comp or texas speed ( talk to matt ) or thunder ask them about a cam for your setup, anyone of these companies will give you an idea of which cam would be perfect for your build, just give them all the info you can and let them know what you want out of the truck and youre good to go ;)
just tuned in and i'm curious...
for a 5.3 -> 383, what bore & stroke are you using?
you would be better off staying return then going returnless. use your current fuel rail on that intake. but since you already spent the money, remember you will need to retune for the returnless, if you dont then youll have fuel issues
I have heard that it will need to be re-tuned for a retunless slope fuel system. but thanks for the heads up.
Sleaper is correct. 3.905 bore and 4.0 stroke. which is 383.02ci.
So I have been looking at the 220/220 cam that thunder racing and texas speed offer and they look like the same duration but way different lift. texas @.581/.581 and TR @.551/.551. which one would be favorable?
I wanted to keep my torque converter stock.
What is the max lift my yellow valve springs on the 243s can take?
