Ok after looking I kinda had that almost figured out. By the way how do you like your turbo. Do they have any problems in the rain looks like the placement would get drowned out if you hit a water puddle. :sad: Sorry guys didn't mean to get off subject. Yeah greg that ws6 now that you mention I believe is a suspension package.
The turbo is great. Have had it on for 6 months with no issues. I have a little shield I made, and have no problems with water. Even before, I didnt have any problems with the rain.
I will be putting and LS1 into a '92 rcss in about 6 months. I think it will be straight forward, especially since I am using a turbo 400. The truck will have a rear turbo set up with about 14psi. I figured the th-400 will stand up to the torque alot better.
The "swap" threads always help with info.
Kool still would like to know anything about the other guys 5spd if they had any problems out of them. :help:
The WS6 was the 5.7 engine that came in the Ram Air Trans Am's and I would imagine it had a suspension upgrade. The Ram Air version was supposed to have a few more horses then the regular LS1, most people when they say LS1 are referring to the 5.7. As far as the 5 speeds go I have had about 6 trucks with them and I have one now a 90 model 4x4 with 206K miles on it and I prefer them hands down over automatics. I have had no problems with them. If you read through this and other forums you see a ton of problems with automatics, the automatics are fine when the work like they are supposed to but I never could get one to live very long.Quote:

This came directly from www.ls6.com. The WS6 only had a different exhaust. The engine was the LS1.

Thanks for clearing that up greg thats good homework. Well how strong are the 5spd do they hold up pretty good once you put some x-tra pwr to them. That is the nv4500 right? Hasn't that tranny been around for a while now? Shouldn't someone be able to build it up and make it a little stronger?
You guys are right about the WS6, I made it sound like the WS6 was similiar to the LS6, not my intentions. I think the extra horses came only from the exhaust and ram air.
BTW I have the truck at a custom shop getting a console built, my Denali gage cluster came in yesterday, no one knows how or if they will work on a truck with a manual trans so I will find that out when I get my truck back.

It will be at least a week before I get the truck back so I will take some pics when I get it providing the thing doesn't look to horrid.
I got my truck back, I am pretty satisfied with the console, the Denali cluster worked fine with the exception of the gear indicators being lit and it showed to be in D all the time, this was fixed by covering with black electrical tape, I removed the peg just past 6K and the peg just past 120 mph and covered the small holes with tap also. I should have some pics in a few days
