I know it would suck not being able to have a beer, but you cant decide who can drink and who cant, its either allowed or not allowed, theres enough alcohol consumption friday and saturday night, that people can hold off for 7 hours.

I'm sure there shootouts will get better after someone gets shot or killed
We where expecting around 5,000 total and got this
8,326 spectors
235 racers
132 in the show
That a lot of people to control!! Our main problem was WORTHLESS OFFICERS (15 were on site) People will always talk about the bad and never about the good things that when on, there is good feed back also on HPT also
But anyways for Oct Madness we will not advertise as much and keep the crowd down, spectors will be parked on the circle track side eliminating the cruising and limit the beer being brought in, we are trying to get HPD officers in there instead of the worthless one we had. We do put up feed back threads and ask members there opinions and do something about it. We live and learn!! Things will get better just need to make changes
Sorry to the ones that didn't enjoy this, We for sure worked hard in it! And will do our best to improve it
All I can say is we try very hard to make these events happen in Houston. We will continue to support Nelson and LS1 truck shootout, but you can not compare the amont of spectators. We are still learning on how to manage a crowd but like SSThis said we expected 5000 ppl and we got 8000. We did listened to the feedback after October and ppl requested a return lane and ppl got what they wanted,Did we expect ppl to move the barriers?"NO" but things happen so off to the drawing board we go and make a new game plan.-Mario
I wasn't there, but I don't think people are upset at your planning boys. You've put in a lot of hard work, but you can't control 8500 people with 15 rent a cops. I doubt you are ever able to CONTROL the people. This is just the type of thing that happens when people get drunk around things they want to show off.
You boys put in a lot of hard work. We weren't really comparing the two. We know that our crowd is much smaller for one thing. Also, the general attitude of the two sites is completely different. I think the plans you have to move non racers elsewhere will cut down on some of the BS that happened and clean up your event a little. I'm like Zach though. If stuff like that continues, someone is going to get hurt or die... I wouldn't bring my friends or family to an event like that.
both of you and the rest of the staff did what they could, i went and i seen what was going on, it was crazy! but only so many people can do so much with way to many people!! shit happens and like you said you live and learn from each event!! ill continue to go cause y'ALL PUT ON MORE THAN JUST RACES!! the truck show was badass but damn there was alot of contestants cant see how the judges picked one winner, must have been really hard!! the cruising killed and caused most of the issues :( it'll ony get better! may take some time but at lease efforts are being made, cant hold that against you or the staff for damn sure!!
sorry for the cussing guess ill get infracted a few times!! lol LIRGAF
key word is IF, there intentions are to clean it up and make it better, itll have a more controlling enviroment im sure next time! one thing the staff of hpt has really stressed this go round is wanting it family oriented, like a national event, and ill bet it happens next time specially with parking being put on the circle track side! people would have to walk through gates instead of driving in and doing what they want!!
good luck guys, see y'all in october!
they werent rental cops, they were texas DPS officers, baytowns finest!!!! and i promise ya the staff got ripped off by there efforts to help control the event, they were just plain worthless!!
Ls1t vs HpT at next SAR meet?
