check your fuses, also. make sure the connector has good continuity on the ground and 12v feeding the brake pedal switch.
haven't cut ANY wires??? should be easy to fix this problem.
as far as the ABS light coming on, did you leave the wire connected that comes off of you prop valve?
it's possible the whole ABS system isn't getting power, but if you haven't cut any wires than it makes it easier to diagnose
brake light coming on serves a few functions, one being notification of something amiss in the brakes, but also I believe it comes on when there is a problem with the torque converter.
once you get this brake switch 12v thing figured out we'll see.
I just seem to remember ony my truck when I put a new 700r4 (w/ lockup tcc) in and didn't connect the plug, my brake light was on.
No sir I haven't cut any wires, I was waiting til I got everything working. Just unplugged all of the tbi engine stuff. I should have all the grounds hooked up. There is a wire with power to the brake switch, and one I think with power til you hit the brake. But the purple one isn't seeming to do anything. When I touch the white wire with a test light something clicks inside the cruise control box underhood
Fuses are all good also
Oh also when I touch the white wire and it clicks the tail lights come on?
FOUND THE PROBLEM! One missed freakin ground at the back of the motor in the middle of a bundle of wires was the problem everything is fixed! Next deal, what do you guys think about 2 1/2 inch duals? Keep in mind im using the stock manifold
good find on that bad ground, man.
let's see some more pics of that truck. where's you get the black bowtie on your grille?? i want one.
And thanks for all your help man! I promise I will have all kinds of pics up when I get another memory card adapter. And as for the bowtie, its rattle canned. Turned out great tho
Man this thread is really helpful, I'm about to start doing this swap myself I think, but on a 2dr 4x4 Tahoe. Is everything working like it should in the truck? Also did you hook your A/C up?
