So i got the motor running and now just need to finish up the engine bay as far as hoses misc wiring etc...
What do i do about the alternator?
From a little reading i found that i dont need to use the original brown wire from the truck. What is suggested is to run a 12v switched wire to pin "B" on the newer alternator.
Is this what works the best?

I went ahead and managed to get the original alternator on there. Problem solved.
I got the belt, tensioner, hoses and fans in there last night. I also made my own harness for the fans and "custom" hold down brackets for the LS1 fans.
First thing i did was if the A/C worked, living in Houston its a must. After 2 years of sitting there it still blows cold. The compressor is cycling on and off so it may need some freon but cold none the less. I hooked up the fans to the green A/C wire but they would cut off so i hooked them up to the black wire and nothing. I was tired and didn't even check any further.
What A/C wire did yall use?
Being happy that the A/C was working i didn't even check the to see if the voltage gauge was working.
Today is another day.

Still at it.
I left my job due to difference in opinions on safety issues and was off for about 6 weeks waiting on a particular job i wanted. Well i go the job and have settles in. I have once again changed my mind and took off the carb set up and went to a stock truck intake. I have a friend of mine getting the wire harness set up for me and picking up the Walbro 255 fuel pump today.
I still have to figure out what the hell is going on with the rear u-joint. I took the old one off and took with me to the parts store. I got one that is an exact match to the naked eye but the differences must be very, very small because the cups will not stay on the drive shaft. Its just not right. I have to look into it more or just find a used drive shaft with a u-joint already installed.
I also installed the c-notches and she is sitting right now.
Been long enough and need to get her on the road!!

Congrats on the new job. And keep at it on the truck.
