So you can fit the 285/75/16s on the 16x7 wheels. that was my biggest worry. And I think i will just do a leveling kit for a little extra insurance. thanks for the advice.
I ran 315 75R 16's on my stock rims (16x7's or 8's) on my 93' chevy so don't worry about it. You can fit 285's w/ no lift, just crank the keys mine fit with only trimming the fender/bumper and I have several friends running 285's w/ no lift on 00-06 1500 and 2500 CCSB's.
thank you for the information, i am still hunting around for the right set of tires. are the 315/75/16 35s or smaller.
4wheelparts.com and use the tire calculator... same size as 35's
315/75/16 usually only measure about 34.25 depending on the brand. Most 35's are barely 34.75
here is the link for the calculator

alright, whats everyones feelings on the whole retreaded tires vs new brand name tires. a full set of retreaded mudders for 520 shipped to my door sounds pretty good to me.
peterson's mag did a article on them. they seemed to be happy with how they turned out and performed but you sure do seem to want to cut alot of corners with your truck ....
im a broke college student, i have to cut corners. I wish i had the money for a good lift and some nice 33s or 35s but money is just really tight right now. i just want something thats going to last this summer than next winter i have a job lined up, and with that i will get the 4 inch suspension lift and some real tires. for now cutting corners is what it is going to take.
