I wouldn't mind going to a meet... just gotta get truck right first. STFTs are showing 52.7 for both banks, and I'm puzzled as to why. I'll be on HPT's board asking questions today.

Oh man, a carbon fiber overlay would look awesome with that set of gauges. Do they make one to fit your truck? I guess you can get the CF tape and stick it on there.
It ain't the cleanest setup, but it'll suit me just fine. I'll get up in the morning to hook up the wiring, and all for speedo & tach, but I wanted to mount them today. I'm staisfied!
BTW, truck runs great! Just gotta do some tuning tomorrow.

Got truck wieghed today on truck scales @ work. With me (200 lbs) in it, dialed in at 4260 lbs (minus rear bumper). I guess the fleetsides weigh a good bit more than the stepsides.
Upgrade.... or at least an attempt to get dual fans instead of a single...

Yeah, there is a 12v circuit coming from the brake pedal that should have 12v only when the key is on and no voltage when the brake pedal is energized. The power will go straight to the pink wire in the transmission harness. Ask me how I know. :laugh:

that motor looks awesome in there, man.......the only reason that i havent done a gen III swap yet is that damn wiring...i can do everything mechanical, but the computer and wiring stuff scares me...which one of you guys said it was easy?

Bear with me. This is my FIRST swap of this kind, and I'm learning a heck of a lot as I go along. You'll never learn if you're not getting your hands dirty.
Getting back to the above question... Drove truck to work this morning, and halfway there, the trans slips out of 4th into 2nd or 3rd. I'm thinking it was 2nd b/c my RPMs (w/o TCC engaged) @ 70mph read just under 2600. Out of the blue, the RPMs shoot to 4800! :eek: I pull over to check everything out (truck on & idling fine @ 775), but find nothing out of the ordinary. Wierd! :nutz: I pull off, and disable the TCC solenoid & PWM options thru HPT's manual controls. Hadn't had any issue since. Note... I used to be able to force the TCC PWM on, and engage the TCC, but can no longer do so. What gives? Again, can this be engaged w/o having a laptop in the truck?
You should have the TCC cutout switch on your stock brake pedal if your truck originally had a 700r4 with a lockup convertor.
Nope. Gotta check on it. I know there was a kickdown circuit of some sort, but my old trans was a TH400. I'm off today & tomorrow. I'll post up after I look at my old manual.
The same circuit that feeds the tail lights brake power can be used to trigger a relay to cut the power off for a TCC. Hook terminal 30 to the brake light wire, 87 to ground, 85 to a switched 12v power circuit and 87a to the transmission TCC power supply wire. When you step on the brake, 12v will activate the relay's coil and disconnect power from the TCC, releasing the lockup convertor.

Still don't know whether or not the brake switch mod is locking the TCC. Not really concerned at this point. Good news is....

Trucks running great! :hshake: Thanks to all that have assisted with suggestions and such! Now, it's time to save a few ducketts for a few dyno pulls. I'd like to have an idea as to where the numbers sit. Then, I can tune from there. Been having a bit of fun this week. I can spin through 1st & into 2nd. 0 - 60mph is accomplished in 6.3s. Not bad, but descent enuff since my '02 Yukon can do that in 9.2 (and still clock 15.88s in 1320). I'm feeling more confident about the high speed vibration. Wondering if that has something to do with the "po-man h-pipe" setup I have. I spin the d-shaft up to 6200 (yeah, truck pulls that high), and don't feel anything til about 90-ish. Trans is in good shape. Wondering if exhaust pressure is trickin' me into thinking it's a driveline issue? Ah well... just thought I'd share.

Question... NITROUS, was it you that posted a pic & link for a part for AC systems? I'm looking to gather parts that I need to fab AC stuff I need to get cool air blowing in my C10. If anyone remembers, please post. I've been searching for two days, and have not gotten lucky yet.

I got this info from Nitrous previously.
The seal kit is AC Delco #15-20058. I got mine on Ebay but Nitrous says any auto parts store that carries AC Delco should have it. And here is the web site for the line block. They also carry fittings. I got one 90 degree and one straight fitting.

WOO HOOOOO!!!! Upper 50s this morning! :jump:
With some minor AFR changes @ 5:30am, I loaded the cals, kissed my wife g-bye, and darted for the interstate. Stopped on the shoulder, and nailed it. MAN!!! This truck pulls hard! Didn't have enough juice in my laptop to log an entire trip to work (50 mile commute), but had enought for that WOT run to 80. Also made several WOT passes around the "slo-mo" drivers (or lap traffic) for more excitement. I was behind an 18-wheeler at 80 mph. Within a few seconds, I was in front, passing him at nearly 100. I'm sure the AFR mod helped a lot with WOT PE, but this weather has a great deal to do with dense air charge and IATs.

Anyhow... never got a chance to get some sticky tires mounted in time for the upper 50's weather in LA yesterday & today. Guess it'll have to wait til the next cool front. Hopefully, that'll be before our "new addition" arrives in the world. Have a feeling that track days are numbered. :laugh: Buddy of mine said he's ran 12.7s with my exact powertrain setup. Guess it's all in the tune & tires. We'll see.

Not yet... Have some other financial responsibilities to take care of before new baby comes. A/C is on the back burner for now. Compressor may not be worth a darn b/c it was exposed to the elements for three months prior to me getting it. Hadn't had the extra time. Hopefully, it'll be done before March of '07.
Most of my tuning time takes place on the way to work, and on the way home. I stay up late sometimes just to review logs and tweak tune. It's sad, but I do what I can when I can.
Have a couple of questions about issues I've been seeing for the past couple of months. At idle, I've been noticing that my oil pressure sits at 25. During WOT runs, pressure's at about 75. Cruising at speeds of 70 - 80 mph, pressure's at about 50.
Q1: What are ALL possibilities that could cause low pressure?
Another issue I have is overheating at idle. Yeah, I know, e-fans alone won't keep things super cool w/o some sort of shroud. I've even gotten desperate enough to try the fluids that allegedly drop coolant temps up to 20 degrees. Planning to get radiator flushed... some day soon. Hadn't had to worry about it since I don't drive in heavy traffic. ECT reached 250 degrees during a wait at that long ass turn signal on Airline turning left onto Old Hammond.
Q2: Are there any other ways to keep motor cooler than 225 degrees (or hotter)?
Q3: Will a shroud (alone) resolve this issue?
