Be sure to buy steel backed bearings. They'll handle the power much better than the cheaper copper and babbit models.

bearings, i always get mine from the machine shop that does my engine work. Oversize bearings are a little tougher to find. Luckily the rod bearings are standard small block bearings and are available world wide. I like the new bearings that are coated like those available from Calico.
