Good summary Allen. I've run the tree at more than
one strip and have drag raced for 30+ years.
Reaction time doesn't impact yout ET, but it
will have a large influence over who gets the win light!
Now, if you are simply going to the track for the best time slip,
we should also talk about how deeply you stage (rollout).
This can definitely have an impact your timeslip.
Stage as shallow as possible if you're looking for
your best time slip. Mikey
I definitely don't have 30 years experience, but I'm with Mike V on that comment. Staging can play an important role.
If you know your vehicle good enough and stage shallow, you can actually have a slight rolling start when the light goes green. Or, if you have great reaction time, you can stage deep, putting you that much ahead of the other guy. Depends on your abilities.
timeing is the same everywhere
recation time only comes into play when it is a heads up race ex. 2 super comp. dragsters running each other on a 8.90 index. now whoever has the best reaction time supposing they actually run their dial-in wins
or like on a friday night street night when its heads up if i race this camaro and i run a 13.9 and he runs a 13.7 and i still win. HOW because my recation time was a .000 and his was a .300.
but if its like the NHRA and i dial in a 13.9 it does not matter your reaction time technically you are racing the clock not the other person
