if your 80e is same as mine the drive shaft length needs to be 85 1/2" for a one piece. At lest that is what i measured
that is not counting the trans yoke. that is from the end of the trans.

I didn't know that. If that is true that is great. I thought the 80e was longer and I needed a shorter driveshaft. If all I have to do is swap yokes that will save me some money. :D
The DMax is a great platform, but it's generally outside my budget and after a short time it gets ridiculously expensive to continue modding them. I like the LS platform, because the next step is usually reasonable. It's fun too because few guys in Utah or Arizona are modding halfton trucks. A DMax is in my future, but this is what I am building now. This is also a family truck I will prolly never sell it.
Yes it is longer but the 80e yoke is shorter, i had my driveshaft cut down but ithe yoke still reached, just wasnt perfect if i woulda never cut it it woulda been fine, im pretty sure shawn(ecld 07) didnt cut his down either. Now this is on rcsb with one piece driveshafts, but even with a 2 piece the length is gonna stay the same.
I bought an extra long 80e yoke and then cut it down to the length I wanted.
we need to update this amigo... ;0
Yeah u ever get this rolling
No I ended up having a rougher financial year than expected. Kinda puts a damper on things when you make $10k less than expected. This year is looking much better, but it is unlikely I will be able to do a full out build with my first kid on the way. I have ARP head bolts, LS6 springs, 3.90 gears, and a few other things sitting on the shelf. More than likely I will buy a newer 04-06 5.3, toss in a baby boost cam like the speed inc TU0, a built trans or stock 80e and call it good until I can save up for boost. I would really love to build this truck to beat up on my brother in laws SRT10 quad cab, but it doesn't look likely. I had some other parts, NNBS intake, 90mm dbc tb, 42lbs injectors, 224/228 cam, etc, but had to sell it all at one point to pay my bills. Things are looking up, but we will see where this summer goes. I work in sales so things can go really well in a hurry or turn out not so hot just as fast. I need to pay off my CC's/student loans/wife's car loan. I am also hoping to pick up a C6 vette next summer for my 25th Bday.
heck if he get's ya tell em head south of town theres a blue truck that will advenge you! haha. i got tbss injectors too if your intrested. im sure ill have a few more things ill keep ya posted, u get first dibs haha. btw your gay! hope u get the vett tho haha GL mane!
