Ok so cruise control is good to go then hopefully. As for the 4lo is that only if I want the speedo to work for 4lo? Sorry for my ignorance, stuff like this I'm clueless about. So what exactly do I need to do for the speedo to work? Which wire do I need to tie The vss to?
-
Also I'm not sure the 0411 is the computer I have?

I don't have my wiring manual for our trucks in front of me right now, but if it were me I would leave the cruise control wires alone, the ones that come off of the DRAC (little white pack of cards looking item) going to the cruise unit. the drac also feeds the cluster.
Not sure how familiar you are with the DRAC units in our trucks, it's basically a little unit that takes the raw VSS hi/lo feed and converts it into signals for the cluster and cruise control, it has like 4 or 5 wires going into it. It's in your dashboard, pretty easy to get to. I think there's behind the glove box, not 100% on that tho.
I would also just splice the DRAC's hi/lo feeds from the LQ4's harness VSS hi and lo feeds, should be a purple/white wire and a green/black wire.
I would then cut the wire that feeds your speedo from the DRAC and connect the 0411's 4k speedo feed to that wire, so the 0411 will be feeding your cluster instead of the drac.
Giving your 0411 the ground when it's in 4 lo will then inherently feed the cluster the right speed, since you wired it that way.
So, in the end, you would have the DRAC piggybacked onto the LQ4's VSS hi/lo to maintain cruise control, but in terms of feeding the cluster you run that from the 0411. already talked about the 4lo stuff.
i hate wiring, did i mention that
Hey there are tons of guys on here that know more about this stuff than I do, I hope they will chime in.
I'm sure there is a way to get rid of the DRAC completely and figure out how o have the 0411 do it all, I'm just not that high speed.
I haven't really looked into that (having the 0411 control cruise) cause it's pretty much integrated into my truck.
in terms of what computer you have, if your LQ4 is an 01 or 02, it should be the red/blue connector 0411.
THe newer DBW ones use a computer with green and some other color connectors. Different p/n

I'm sure the experts will chime in :)
hey, I just looked closer at the page I posted, it seems that your harness is going to have different color wires for the VSS HI/LO feeds at C2 pin 49 and C2 pin 50.
I'll bet the yellow/black is the LO, green white is the HI. I'm going out on a limb there, but if it were me, I'd try it and if it's you speedo isn't working, switch the wires.
that's just me

I appreciate all that info! Hopefully I can figure it out now. I'm not familiar with any of that stuff. I'm not sure how im gonna figure out which wires coming out of that drac feeds the speedo. And I just looked at my computer it is blue and red but I don't see 0411 anywhere on it?

I'll take a look at my haynes manual later tonight and post up your wiring info.
Just looked your pics, you have an 01 or 02 LQ4 with the 0411.
Drive by cable setup, it looks like. yours is identical to mine
Disregard all that crap I said about your vss wires being different color than purple/white (hi) and green/black (lo).
Your LQ4 harness's vss wires should be purple/white and green/black.

Well my computer and harness didn't come with this motor. The motor is supposed to be a 04, I put the cable throttle body on it. The computer i have is the 09354896

damn dude I missed that. Sorry.
found this page, fwiw

Yah I don't know if whoever built your harness followed gm's color schdme for wires. Ur gonna need to check on those vss wires for sure.

Well I got everything together as far as what I need to try and start it. I tried to craNk it last night and I got nothing from the starter, got a test light out and even in the start position I have no power to the small wire that goes to the solenoid. Not sure how I lost the power to it, but I had the wires hooked up off the old harness, so I guess im about to go out and try to hook up the wires that are on the new harness

Also .... My abs light is on even with the key out of the ignition?? But when I turn the key on it goes away

You may want to closely go over your grounds again. I had a similar problem with an LS1 swap, where dash lights were staying on with the key out - turned out to be a missed ground lug.
