i love the one word answers they are short sweet and to the point. thank you for the help. how much over all lift should i expect from 3 inch body and leveling kit.
1'' rear with the block.
2'' front with keys
So 5'' front and 4'' rear roughly.
Just dont crank the T-bars all the way.
I ran 285/75/16 with just a 3'' body lift and a lil crank on the t-bars with no keys.
That was also with 16x8'' cragar soft 8's.
Only Pics I have of that setup though are the day after i nailed a guide rail and bent the frame and ripped off the wheel tho.
bummer about the truck that sounds like it was a nasty hit. but on the up side you got a reason to upgrade. I am just worried about fitting 285/75/16s on some stock wheels, I was told you need at least an 8 inch rim and the stocks are 7, i thought.
That is only with some of the suspension lifts because of the way the knuckles are.
285/75/16 = 33/11.5/16 7'' rim is the slimest you wanna go but you will be fine. I have done it.
305/70/16 = 33/12.5/16 7'' is still usable but makes wear in the middle faster due to the tire being smashed up. 8'' -10'' is ideal
You'll be fine. Wouldn't steer you wrong.
Oh and the 05 got a new frame. Thats when it got the 9'' of lift and 35's. I miss the 5 speed :(.
I have the Pewter SFA axle now (forsale!!) and the 04 stock height. :( For now. muahahhahahahaha
I also have a thread...what fits and what doesn't here too. http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/4x4-o...t-fitment.html
thanks a ton that really helped out, I just dont want to have to buy a new set of wheels. Sounds like you got a good collection of trucks kicken around, do you have any pictures on the site that I have missed. I will post some photos when i get all the body and level kit in. thanks again for the help.
wait after reading from that tire and wheel fit page, can i run the 33s with out rubbing on a 2inch leveling kit, cause that would save me some 300 bucks.
33's will fit with slight torsion crank and MINOR trimming on the lower front bumper (that ugly plastic piece...i took mine off years ago)
BUT under severe mudding you might rub.
what do you mean, extreme mudding like a bed full of drunk friends going though the woods and maybe a little playing in the fields. or going WOT into a mud bog.
any recommendations for a leveling kit. I found this one for pretty cheap does it look like it will be ok.

These two are from summit and are not a kit just two different parts.

well...bed will probably never rub, it's the front. Like full articulation. If one tire is higher then the other, and you turn wheels you MAY rub. Or if you take a turn REAL fast and the body rolls (my rub sometimes doing this)
