the yellow z06 springs are just fine for cams under .570 lift...how many have you actually heard of failing?
Whos said I was going under .570 of lift? I dont know what cam yet, now I can get whatever I want and not have to worry. Only takes one to take out a piston, valve, head, cylinder.
it was simply a statement there cowboy...
also know that these dual springs put added stress on your valvetrain that could also lead to premature failure. just because you have the best/most expensive parts doesn't necessarily mean you don't have to worry. ANY part CAN fail
True, dual springs are more stiff, which causes extra stresses, but that is why you upgrade your retainers, pushrods, and lifters in conjunction with the springs to make sure the risk of failure is less.
Also true: Any part can fail, but dual springs act like insurance for your valvetrain...if one spring fails, there is a second one to take over and not let a catastrophe happen. :twocents:
I have never heard of Z06 springs failing--even when they are used on .590 - .600 lift cams. Yes, its true--there are some people out there who have done this and gotten away with it...for now. When you take a mechanical part and push it past its recommended operating range, it can hold up to a point...but eventually it will fail.
^^^don't tell anybody but i agree with every word you said :D
Whatever. My feelings were hurt real bad by that. I actually cried myself to sleep last night because of it.
