Bad News: My grandfather passed away this morning at the young age of 84. Would have been 85 in January. He was in a lot of pain from having lungs that barely functioned so I'm just glad that he's not suffering anymore. I was able to fly up to WI to see him one last time this last weekend so I am grateful for that. He perked right up when I showed up because he always loved to talk about cars and the good old days with grandma (she passed away 4 years ago) and how lucky he was to have been with her all those years. After I left, his condition severely worsened and last night they knew he wasn't going to make it another full day.
Good news: I'm doing a one way flight to WI and Monday after the funeral I'm driving my truck back. Let the planning begin...
Sorry to hear about losing your Grandfather. At least his pain is over and he can be with his love.

Thanks, I was just glad to be able to see him one last time. My only regret is never bringing a recorder with to record his stories. It seemed I was the only one he liked telling these stories to so I'll have to hold onto them although I doubt I'll ever forget them.Quote:
