Thank you!
so you have 87 tanks for the baffles im thinking??
what pump are you using and what did you do about fuel lines im getting a TBI Sending unit im stuck on the pump and what to run for lines?? any ideas???
Yeah, I wanted the bowl in the tank. I had been running the stock 85 tanks (no bowl) with the TBI and it would die if I stopped to quickly with anything less than 1/4 tank of fuel.
I'm using ACDelco EP-381 pumps (FE0114 - Electric Fuel Pump $69 each), they've are giving me right at 58 psi.
I ordered FI rated 5/16" hose for the return lines, and Summit's -6 hose for the pressure side. FI rated clamps on all the tank and valve connections, and Summit's Snap-Tite AN fittings on the Vette filter/regulator and fuel rail.
It's been working perfect.
ok so will i need to use vette filter /reg on mine i cant see a reg on the fuel rail mine is a 2000 ? and what is summit-6 hose is this hi pressure? thx for the help
Does your fuel rail have one or two lines on it? It probably has two if it's a 2000 model. If it has two, you won't need the filter/reg, but you will if it only has one.
This is the hose:
Summit SUM-220785 - Summit Racing® Twist-Tite Hose - Overview - SummitRacing.com
it has 2 lines so i will get some -6AN line from the sending unit to a filter (any suggestions on the filter) then from the filter to the engine -6AN line 5/16 EFI hi pressure line for the return!! could i use this
NOS 15430 NOS Stainless Steel Braided Hose
You could, but that is a retarded amount of money for braided line! Summit sells -6 AN stainless braided hose, same length (6') for $26.95.
I guess I should update.....
Took the truck on it's first drive this Saturday, and it runs awesome! Even with the 2.73 rear end in it, it still runs fantastic! I can't wait to get the 3.42's in there. :D
The first tank gave me 252 miles to just barely under 1/4 tank, so I think pushing 25 mpg should be easy. I was hard on this tank, hard on the gas pedal, and not slow on the highway! So once I get the better gearing in it and ease off the go-fast pedal, it should start producing some great mpg numbers.
