Worth every penny!!!
Thanks..very helpful post...
very helpful thread! i installed a vette servo today its one fast, easy, and low cost mod.
So which servo do i need to buy for an 04 silverado with a 4.8? is this mod worth it? Could i install this my self with no prior tranny work knowledge?
All 4l60e's take the same servos. Few tips.
1. Have extra cover orings. Usually when you remove the cover, you have to destroy the oring. Test fit the assembly before you put the oring on the cover. Make sure the servo assembly compresses about 2 inches when installed. if its stiff and wont compress, take it back out. (hence why you dont put oring on cover.)
2. Make sure you install the rings right.
3. dont bend the clip that holds the assembly in the tranny.
Do the Vette servo swap. You can get them most anywhere. I get mine from OregonPerformanceTransmissions.com . Be sure the wiper style oring on the last piston you install has the edges pointing outwards of the transmission, towards the inside of the cap that it fits within.
Anyone can do this assembly with patience and a cool engine.
well ordered it today from oregon. Cost 20.50 shipped
