i also just scooped up an 02 Lexus IS300. guy said it had an electrical problem. turns out some new terminals & battery is all it needed. it's very rough but for what i paid for it it's great!!!! best part is it has cold A/C!!!!
plans for now is to fix a few things & use it for a daily to finish my truck.
long term plans are LS1/6 speed, bags, billets, & satin charcoal paint.

hey RPM,
great write up on the build of the truck.
I really like the attention to detail
Did you do anymore work to the engine?
nothing done, just a stock LS1, CAI, LT's, & a tune. trying to get the doors finished & get my compressors hooked up. this little IS is starting to take my truck funds, LOL!!!
brakes are pretty bad so i just ordered some pads & i need a new stitch for the passenger seat.
hey RPM,
what motor mounts did you use?
thanks
i used a set from Wisner Machine Works in Michigan. he sells them on ebay. i bought the multi hole set, 1" back, center, 1" forward. i used the center holes & everything fit & lined up great. i used the trans from the camaro so i had to adjust my trans cross member, but other then that the Schoenfeld headers & everything fit great.
Sweet build and an awesome fint on the IS.
i haven't been doing too much on the truck since i bought the IS300. i did get both door handles in though. now to just finish them up & re-paint.

on a side note. i just found another LS1 from an 02 camaro i'm trying to scoop up. complete motor, trans, & harness for $600 with 40k on it.
crossing my fingers the guy will call me to come get it this week. possibly a 240 with an SR20 also. i'm hoping to pick up everything & flip the 240 & get the LS1 for free basicly.
Man that looks great defiantly a cool idea on the handles.
Any updates?
you're like a god when it comes to body work! those door handles look like they are from the factory!

Just finished reading your build thread !!! Is it all done now !!! Nice job !!! It looks AWESOME !!!!!! Great Job !!! ANy more Pics !!!Also how do you like the Michigan a-arms !!!
i haven't had a chance to get the arms on yet. i'm about to redo all my air management. i have 2 new viair 480, & 4 new bags. since i lost the engine driven compressor with the motor swap i'm switching to electrics & have to remove one of my tanks.
Little shop of horrors has a kit to an EDC for an LS with truck accesories.
i have f-body accessories & just got my A/C bracket powder coated, LOL!!!

the 2 electrics will do, i'm not switch crazy.
dude, props on the door handles. they look good on the truck. and they look factory. i know how much work must have went into them. great job
getting them in was no problem, making them function is a different story. i had to cut so much off the backs of the handles the pull is too short to pull a cable. i may end up just shaving them again.
looking for some insight into the firewall connector. this is an old thread and im hoping you guys can help
