ls1 truck raceday was awesome, saw lots of nice and fast trucks. i know their were some callouts, stunna ran the lightning hard and took him. i showed up around noon so im sure i didnt see all the callout races. Did playboy and double047 run their race? who won? all you racers put on a good show.
We didn't get a chance to go heads up. My best time was a 13.6. Next time out, I'll have slicks and be in 2wd. I did make a run on a BONE STOCK tune to see what the truck runs as far as stock and I ran 14.9. Put my other tune in and had a bad flash and had TCM control codes flying everywhere. I pulled out the laptop and it died in the staging lanes while uploading and I had to push the truck out of the way and get the laptop on a charger.
After that, Mitch showed up and I was busy trying to help him get his stuff going since he was only going to get a couple of passes.
My truck runs strong. I have no doubt that I can beat Mitch's 12.79 on a 100 shot with slicks and 2wd.
^^ What he said, we never ran any heads up, but if he ran 13.6s on just motor he would have beat my 2010 5.3 CC that I didn't bring as it only runs 14.3x's.
I had troubles all day with my new truck, mostly problems shifting 1st gear for some reason so I never got any clear passes that didn't include me letting completely off the pedal and then re-applying it to the floor, a couple of the passes I had to left off twice, I had a few 13 second passes in the low 100s, but don't remember exact times, I will need to look for the slips as we got wasted pretty bad that night and roll raced for hours.
I had a great time and it was good to meet a lot of you guys, especially the guys from Cali and Mexico...and hell yeah it was fun partying until 4 in the morning with Ray and the local San Antonio guys on Friday...
^I was having issues getting out of second gear myself. 14.0 doing a 4x4 burnout, not shifting, letting out twice. I have figured out the not shifting issue. For some reason these trannies must really hate spinning the fronts because I put it in 2wd on the service road and sprayed 150 through it and it shifted flawlessly. The only thing keeping me from 12s was 4x4. I'll have slicks next time for sure.
It was from a dig though... there should be no difference. Just because I get in my truck and move it 200 yards to a different location, it shouldn't magically work differently. I'll have to borrow your slicks and test it or something.
I got it. I'll bring it to you this weekend.
I didnt mean it like a prick. (sorry) His truck has heads, cam and stall. But ya its fun racing regardless.
I know you weren't. No big deal. If I recall correctly our cams are pretty close...I think mines got a little more lift. His truck is probably 1000lbs less than mine, but he is probay 150lbs more than me so that also helps . A stall and good set of heads are definitely on my list of things to do. Just gotta take care of the issues from last night and get it back on the road again.
He's like the dwarf that runs the boston marathon every year, talking it up that he's going to win it this year and loses. He never gives up and he enters the marathon the next year because that is just his never give up personality.
As much as I hate to admit it, if G got it running right and dialed in it would be BA. Sounds damn mean too, except that squeak and rattle and every other noise it makes
