all this trash coming from a bunch of guys with stock cams in their old POS trucks. it's funny, once either of you bums has put a cam alone in your stock rides then you can comment. the LS6 cam gained 27.4rwhp/23.6rwtq with the only other modification being a ported oil pump, which add NO horsepower at all. the truck already had HAMM headers on it at the time, with otherwise stock exhaust and a bullet muffler.
Full length headers and that muffler isn't a stock exhaust. That's where the cam's gains come from up top.
never said your truck was a pos hitman, just gmcslowLS1, and femtruc.
the headers and a bullet were the only changes to the exhaust, still had cats, and all stock tubing even coming out the back behind the tire. the exhaust was changed prior to the cam swap though. AS I SAID, THE ONLY CHANGE WAS THE CAM AND A PORTED OIL PUMP. and the gains weren't ALL up top, it started making more power around 2800 i believe
All I can say is take to the track and show us!!
when you coming out to the track, cammy?
All this talk makes me wanna race. I don't mind if i loose, i just like racing and seeing if you really are in the 11's.
Well saying anyone's vehicle is a POS isn't cool...even if they roll a Ford Festiva or a Pinto or a Kia...it sure beats the hell out of walking. I could have a fast ass Z71 if I didn't feel like sticking in a giant stereo...but better tunes are more important to me as I drive a lot. On top of that I like having my credit cards clear and not paying 3-5X over for the price of something.Quote:

My F-150 has a really ghetto paint job on it (a la Maaco) but when I feel like spending $900 to get it repainted I will. That is going to be me sneak truck. I mean trading legal work for it was pretty damn cool if you ask me.
The WRX I got also has really poor factory clear coat (already bubbled in a few places!) and the body panels dent sooooo easily I'd have mistaken them for aluminum. There is NO sound deadening at all inside and the stock radio blows. I am gonna drive this bitch for another year or so and off it before it falls apart. I then will take all my parts back off and put it back to stock then also. I have something pretty insane inmind for a next vehicle if my job transfer turns out as well as it is supposed to...
The stock truck exhaust is 2.5" duals into a 2.75" y-collector which flows really well so do the stock cats. I think the exhaust attributed to the cam swap tho' by allowing more flow. I don't doubt it added more power just not to that extent. By hey, anything is possible I suppose.
you boys come up to Ennis and i'll race ya all day long
whatever jammy, you said that last time you were down here and you never showed up, what's up with that?Quote:
