4L60E level 1 build problems!! need info

ima just go ahead and put myself out there...........
i got my tranny rebuilt by these guys in mid feb and paid 1500 for a awd 65e 'competition level 1' rebuild. a month and a half later the tranny starts slipping and i take it back and they tell me itll be 500 to fix it. so i say no and walk about.2 weeks ago it finally went out.took it to another tranny shop and had them break it open infront of me. EVERYTHING was stock. input shaft was broken amongst other things.........

so to the OP id have another shop look at it.

as for me.im putting a lawsuit against them

well my truck is slipping horribly now, im soppose to take it to them on monday, he told me if its anything that they installed its warranty but if i broke a hard part then its my fault! WTF , gteran1 - i honestly was thinking they put all stock components in it as well for the past 2 months, my tranny only lasted for 4 months and i only ran it hard like 5 times racing my buddys f-250 and the first run it started acting up. ill be right behind you on the lawsuit to buddy . it just ticks me off cause i dont have the time to remove my tranny here at my home due to my neihbors complaining on me and my darn truck dont fit in my garage

Dam guys sorry to hear that! I had mine done by a guy who started his own buisness. I went to his shop and looked around while I chatted with him and seen he pretty much seem to know his stuff. I had him put the Monster package with the Trans Go shift kit stage 2. He told me break in 250 miles then I can do whatever I want with it. Been 2 months and haven't had a problem since. So I consider myself lucky from hearing these horror stories. Hope you all get it taken care of!

man im tellin ya go see mike. he just built my allison. He had great turnaround even stayed late on a friday to finish it up for me and get parts from the other side of Houston so it could be done in time. i had 70 miles on it maybe before it went to the track the first time and its never skipped a beat if you take it back to these fools they are going to claim u broke it, then even if you dont have them rebuilt it you will still be paying them to look at it. Do yourself a BIG favor, never go back and take it to century. they will treat you right :thumb:

There are much more knowledgable ppl who design these shiftkits to work correctly, there isn't any reason to change the function or installation of a good shiftkit.
"own shift kit " lol.

btw, i only use the transgo HD 2 shiftkit, works everytime and shifts great with a vette servo added.

Im going wendsday to go ask him if he wants to refund my money or be taken to court. i have all the stock parts in a box

just took my truck in monday , had it out with him. i have to give him a chance to honor his warranty before beeing taken to court. otherwise he can just say " well i would have fixed it if he brought it back" in court and there goes my case. i believe in any buisness you have 3 chances to resolve an issue before the customer can request a refund for work. this is #3 for him, i had to pay $350 for him to remove it and install it plus he exteneded my warranty to a 1 yr instead of 6 months. just went through my reciepts, 3-18-10 rebuilt, 4-15-10 returned to fix the shifting issue, 6-21-10 returned for another rebuild. lol come on now, 3 months geez. well we will see whats up, SOPPOSE to pick up the truck today.

Gteran- if tranny goes out on me then we need to get together in court or something against this guy, i already have all my paper work ready including a copy of this thread just incase i need to go to court.

WOW , well i picked up my truck and the tranny is sopposably "fixed" ,well drove it and my truck is not boosting 10psi at all and feels like theres horrible lag and only pushes 5psi-6, went right back and he said he thought it felt slugish , i said "yes because it is , what did yall do to it"? he says nothing just the transmission , i checked all my vaccum lines,turbo and intercooler piping and all, still not running ANYWHERE near or close to the way it did, i then called him and asked if he flashed or messed with my computer and he says no we did not and we dont even have the equipment to flash a computer, whats going on here? is it possible he messed with my computer or erased my tune from nelson performance??

Oh wow, I would be raising some serious hell after that. Are there any exhaust leeks? Maybe they didnt put it back together correctly if they had to take the exhaust off to pull the trans.
