Tell me what you know about the ol' Duramax's

sorry to miss lead you, my point was about the trucks in general. i am glad you can speak firsthand about owning a dmax, a very nice one at that. i can only speak for cummins since i don't have as well of a paying job as other people have.

A 2001 and a 2004. Have they changed a lot over the years or something?

yes, the 01 has a long tube to each injector, and the 03 and up uses a common rail setup which has short tubes to each injector

I'd still say get a Duramax even if you tow. Just for mileage. I'd hate to be getting 15 max with a DD (and that's usually going easy on the peddle).

seriously, if you aint doing any towing why not get you a 1/2 ton 4wd?
