Got the front axle back under it with the 2.5'' lift springs on both sides and all new bushings. Got the steering swapped, but still need to swap out the backing plates and calipers.
Hopefully get it rolling again when the new tires get here. 33'' MT's. Popped one of the 31's by accident with a tooth on the bucket when picking it up. Oh-well.
More to come.
Don't you have a garage or driveway you can work in. Looks like you can lose some nuts and bolts easily maybe even some wrenches.
I love these old midseries :chevy: trucks!!! I have two and would gladly give up my 04 if either were reliable enough to drive and the winters didnt turn them to Fe3O4. So jealous of your project right now.
Check the toe board on the front of the cab, near where the parking brake cable goes through. I found some surprise rust under there on my 87 V20. There may or may not be a plastic splash shield covering that area.
I like to be one with the outdoors Chris. And i am only giving back to the soil what already came from it.
Yeah, the drivers side is a lil rusty. But i got the rocker panels tacked on already and the crate 350 dropped in a got it all running.
Was on vaca for the past week, hope to have more pics for tomorrow.
Got this done 2 weeks ago before vacation.
Drug it down to the parents garage to put the crate in and so i would have some power to do some quick welding.
Still a lot more metal work to do, but it was rotted and needed done. Put the door on just to check the clearance.

Edelbrock is coming off. Was just on to get it fired up. Fired up on the first crank! Damn I'm good.
Working on tranny flush, getting a rearend together that works, brake lines, and then i can drive it down to the house to finish the metal work. Welder doesn't work off the generator.
Make sure you post up plenty of pics of the rocker and cab corner work. I'm bout to tackle those sections on my '81. Progress is definitely looking good though. :chevy:
Well the cold and snow we had for the past while haulted me on the 85. And now that the 99 is basically done I can focus on this project again.
