Well truck is down with a dead 4l60e. Something broke once I finally started making power. I did not even have the tuning worked out. :naughty:
I am guessing that it will run high 11's.

Everone puts down the auto trac as bieng weak. Anyone broke one by launching in 4wd then shifting to 2wd?

I launch 4hi, have been since my truck had ~10K miles on it, I'm at 45K now.

I cut a 1.57 60' right after this. I drive my truck to work every day, it's my only 4 wheeled transportation. :)

I have never heard of one being broken for that reason. The early ones had a few design flaws that caused some case failures but other than that no.

Parrish ran 1000hp and never broke it. I think it was an autotrac. Not 100% sure. Some one correct me on that If I am wrong.

pretty sure you're correct. Also, mine switches back into 2wd while under full power, I know because if I shift it too soon it's all over for me :)

I ran a 14.05 in 2HI with a 2.13 60', spun a little off the line. Then I ran a 14.19 launching in 4HI and pushing the 2HI button after the 1-2 shift. 60' was 2.08 and I kind of messed up on the 1-2 shift. I was a little late and bounced off the rev limiter, otherwise I would have been a little faster.

Found some more information on this subject. Keep in mind stock48 is running low 10s

Yeah, but he is also running 10s. Apparently a stock transfer case can handle lot of power. Except for STOCK48, I have not heard of a stock transfer case fail...in a 4WD or AWD form.

What if you have a manual transfer case and you do the 2low mod where you put a switch in to disconnect the front axle in 4 low. Then launch in 4 hi and about the 60 ft flip the switch to disconnect the front axle and still leave tcase in 4wd. Would it work or help?
