Working on getting the dash cover out. Wow lots of bolts think I got them all but still its in there and not moving yet. :( Working on trying to find more holding points... Having the replacement pc you would think would help but nawwww, its not showing me whats holding it now. more work soon all the parts are for sale. head liner done, upper console done needs a little tweeking but done.
A-pillar moldings, two phillips on each side behind the fuse covers, 4-5 7mm screws behind the cluster bezel, one phillips behind each RH vent, grab handle. I think G posted all that already. Pull is straight back, it has spring clips near the windshield and some around the rear edges.
its 90% done, just need to install the drivers side door and the seats. The new dash cover had a few broke clips near the widow so I used some plastic glue and did a littel repair, letting is sittign for a few days before installing it. The biggest time has been cleaning all this plastic and old carpet. WOW was is loaded with dirt.Wiping all the backsides to remove any dust and hopefully older truck smell. lol
Grey interior, 2 seater, over head console, look SOOOOOOO much better in my opinion in this truck. And making it a 2 seater again just looks the part I think. Might need to get some badges made. sbSS... :)
Tan stuff is all up for sale. 300.00 + freight. I would replace the carpet or give it a good steam cleaning. Someone spilt a coke or something like that...
I am looking for the vent diverter in my 04' Avalanche. It is stuck in the defrost position. It's not the hvac controls because I changed them already and it didn't solve the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Pull off the dash, close it manually, then when winter comes and you need defrost, open it back up
I live in florida, need a/c in the winter too! ;)
The problem is I don't know where it is. How much of the dash do i have to pull?
:confused:Well what I need is the mode actuator.. It's under the drives side of the dash and I can see it pretty easy. But, how the hell do I get to the top screw to get it out?!
To remove the dash tilt your steering wheel down, apply e brake, put truck in nuetral, pull off the dash bezel around the speedo return truck to park, remove screws from dash youll need a 7mm nut driver/socket pull off fuse panel cover unscrew the 2 phillips head screws do the same on passenger side then pull out your passenger side air vents and unscreww those phillips acrews then reach inside the vents and push in on the 2 white clips on both sides holding the dash handle in and pullout on the handle at the same time, then turn the daytime headlight sensor until it goes down in it hole grab the dash on both sides and pull out, it will slide right out , there you go now you can reach the module.:thumb:
