I don't mind at all. It dried on because we litterally spent an hour trying to get all the tape off. It was on there pretty freaking good. I'm going to have it buffed and waxed in a few weeks anyhow, but I'd like some opinions.

And no, the letters are staying.

try windex. it's semi strong, but safe for clear coats.


if not, get a good bug/tar remover, or rubbing compound.


I coat my rims/lights/stainless with wd40 in winter to avoid rust/corrosion, it flings over paint, get the same affect...come spring its a pain to clean. Windex normally does it tho.

pretty much the same things that has been suggested on this page.
All purpose cleaner, light paint cleaner and what not.

personally, I'd try the bug/ tar remover or the fine cut cleaner first. When working with good paint. The best technique is to use the least aggressive method first. Compounding would be one of the last resorts, it would most likely remove more clear than necessary.

Try some wax and grease remover like a paint prep type stuff looks like a pretty stubborn film from an oil based adhesive remover. I don't remember the 3m general purpose adhesive cleaner leaving that mess on my old truck

I'll try it this week sometime. I'm pretty booked up and have to tile our kitchen, dining room, and one bathroom this week after working 10 hour days. It'll probably be Thursday before I can get to it. Please let me know if any other responses come out, and possibly a list of products to try.

Might also try a little bit of dawn and water. That might cut the oil out.
